Perfect for the many, many weeks ahead we have in lockdown, this is the entry level 2019 OLED TV from LG but given the 2020 models seem to have only minor improvements, this should provide a good base for your home entertainment needs for a few years.

Haven’t seen it this cheap on Amazon before and you could always go to Richer Sounds with this price. You may also be offered the ability to pay in five monthly interest free instalments.

You'd be mad to buy this when you can get it from Richer Sounds with a 6 year warranty for an extra £17.

Unfortunately don't think RS will be around in 6 years time!

In 2015 Richer Sounds' turnover was £149,000,000 with an operating profit of £4,500,000.

In 2019 turnover was £171,000,000 with a profit of £10,900,000.

They appear to be getting 'Richer'.

Of course there’s a warranty, just not a very long one.
Do RS price match amazon
What are the differences between the 2019 and 2020 models please?. Didn't even know the 2020 models were out?. Do they support hdmi 2.1 etc?. Heard lg were updating the 2019 models to full hdmi 2.1 support but think doesn't apply to this model only the models above the b series

Looks like the bx range is the cheapest fully compliant hdmi 2.1 range. The cx 48 inch seems nice.

Any remotely reasonable basis for that?
Genuinely tempted. The 5 monthly payments makes it a very good option. But. I must resist. Current tv still works, even if it’s a little 10-year old LG!

I think it’s 50/50. depends on many factors they have a lot going for them great customer service, 6 year warranty, good prices. as long as customers keeping buying then RS will be around in 6 years.

Don't know if this still holds true, but in the 90s they were in the Guinness book of records for the highest turnover per sq foot of any retailer...

Obviously the internet has changed things a bit, but their online business seems at least competitive.

so you would not buy from RS on the basis of your gut feeling. Unbelievable. Anyway try looking at it another way. If you buy from RS instead of Amazon you support a uk company (making it less likely they go under) if they do go under you still have your manufacturer's guarantee so nothing lost. If they last for anything over than 12 months you are quids in with the guarantee

If they price match they then beat it by £20. That was why I asked as would make this a great price then.

RS customer service is outstanding. 6 year warranty makes this deal seem silly. Had 2 TV replaced off them with no issue. Your "gut feeling" talk is rubbish. Keep supporting British companies. Especially thoroughly decent ones.
I’d love to know how much as a percentage richersounds paid to the exchequer as a percentage of their turnover compared to Amazon UK

I have no clue if your statement holds any water.

However, any big purchase of any product over £100, from any retailer I'd always recommend purchasing on a credit card to give yourself some insurance, especially at the moment. You never know who is next.
Thanks I've just ordered one but of the Richersounds website that offers 6 years warranty for a little more.

Should be a nice upgrade from the 43" TV we've got
I agree - better to get elsewhere. Not just because the warranty isn't as long, but I'm finding Amazon aren't very secure with their deliveries. Bought a laptop this week, and the package was tampered with, the laptop replaced with non-Amazon washing up powder and delivered by someone apparently working for Amazon Flex. They're fine for a book or DVD but would recommend going elsewhere for anything more than £50. And I've been with Amazon for over £15 years so it pains me to say this
Genuine question, and genuinely not trying to troll or spoil the deal...

I have several children who frequently leave the Xbox paused - literally for hours at a time on top of playing things with fixed HUDs etc on screen. Is burn in an issue still? I have. Quite a dark room, and in every other respect OLED seems like the right choice, but I'm the sort of person that gets driven to distraction by a single dead pixel or light bleeding. This, a C9 or a Q80/Q90?

You could have it so that the built in screen saver comes on after a short while automatically. Saves having to ‘remind’ the kids/partner to turn off the tv. And at night time it has a routine it can run automatically that is to do with screen burn prevention as well. I’ve read about others having screen burn on older models due to playing long hours daily on FIFA, with LG charing £200 to replace the screen. Nothing to say it can’t happen on the latest model. So for me those options are probably worth activating.

I was in a similar situation to yourself and although I wanted a b9 for pure picture quality my kids do exactly the same, especially sky on pause. I knew its be something I'd be constantly fighting with them about so thought the slight gains oled could offer simply wouldn't be worth the arguments with them so went for a q85r and I'm really pleased with it.

Waiting for my sonos beam to get delivered tuesday to complement it
REALLY torn between this, the C9 for 1200 from RS, or the AG8 from Costco (in store) for 1200. or The Panasonic TZ950.
Ahhhhhhhhhh!
The biggest issue is my bulletproof 50" Samsung plasma from amazon black friday 2011! Bloody thing STILL wont die...

Try a PS4 controller rage attack. My son sorted that one out for me a couple of years ago.
The c9 has not reached this price so far, or has it?
