LG OLED55B9PLA & SL8YG
55 inch OLED 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart TV Freeview Play Freesat HD & 3.1.2 ch High Res Audio Soundbar with Dolby Atmos.
See the difference OLED makes, with the LG OLED55B9PLA’s stunning picture quality.

See the OLED difference for yourself
With advanced Pixel Level Dimming, OLED remains one of the best options for class-leading picture quality. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Alpha 7 Gen 2 processor – for enhanced picture processing
This LG TV features their advanced new Alpha 7 Gen 2 processor. The upgraded processor features Deep Learning AI algorithm for enhanced picture quality. Advantages including enhanced image rendering, improved shadow details and smoother motion, all give a more lifelike image than ever.

HDMI 2.1 connectivity for wider support
Featuring HDMI 2.1 sockets gives this LG greatly enhanced connectivity. HDMI 2.1 supports Dynamic HDR. This lets the TV adjust the picture frame-by-frame for active control of the contrast. For gaming and VR headset use, Variable Refresh Rate and Quick Frame Transport aim to reduce lag and provide a smoother and more responsive feel. HDMI 2.1 also supports eARC – an upgraded Audio Return Channel that supports DTS:X and Dolby Atmos from TV to audio system.

AI Picture
Artificial Intelligence comes of age with LG’s Deep Learning AI Picture. This clever system compares the signal with a table of content and automatically adjusts the picture quality to the most accurate image possible. Using an ambient light sensor, the system adjusts screen brightness and other criteria (with HDR signals). The result is greater realism with a cleaner and sharper picture
Take movie night to a new dimension, with the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X equipped LG SL8YG.

Sound all around, with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
Using upward-firing speakers, the SL8YG creates a more immersive sound – just like at the cinema. The SL8YG bounces sound off the ceiling meaning that effects such as heavy rainfall and aircraft flying overhead sound more real than ever. Both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats are covered, giving you three-dimensional sound with all compatible discs and streaming services.

Sound sensation - featuring Meridian technology
Responsible for some of the finest home and car hi-fi, Meridian is at the cutting edge of digital audio. With their technology on board, the SL8YG’s digital processing is greatly enhanced, giving you a huge step-up in sound quality. Meridian technology means total precision, with incredible detail and sound effects placed all around your room.

Feel the bass, with a dedicated subwoofer
The SL8YG isn’t just about sound immersion, it’s about power, too. The separate subwoofer gives action movies and music serious muscle. The wireless connection means that it can be placed anywhere in the room, regardless of how close it is to the soundbar (mains power required).

Seems to be the trend this year instead of lowering the price of the TVs they are bundling in the sub par sound bars they couldn't sell. This isn't reviewed as bad as the samsung ones but still isn't great especially at the rrp they say it is

So hot it makes me wish I were single.
Wow
I was going to bite but John Lewis selling the with 5 year guarantee for £1099 so it’s really sound bar if you need one reduced to extra £200. Now if it was all around £1100ish I would have snapped up

Yeah the reviews suggest its a little weak gor the price. 3/5 for sound. Its not terrible though i am very tempted still, although i was looking for for a c9.
I am still debating on getting one, I just honestly thought that with the current climate and the new models arriving in a few weeks that we would see better discounts.

With the current global situation I would have thought that supply of new models to Europe/UK might be a little low?

I would have thought the same, but it appears that manafactuers are still aiming for the same deadlines. Numerous companies have been quoted to say that shipping will not be affected. Personally, I don't see how, but they seem adamant.
I've got the B9 and the same soundbar. The TV is fantastic and for me better overall value that the C9. The soundbar is fantastic but its not going to give you rear sound. But it's a fantastic set up.

The difference is the 9 series is the best seller so retailers have no need to discount. People are still (or were) buying them as it's seen as on of the best OLEDS on the market at a sensible price range. The X has some improvements though not enough to sell the numbers the 9 has tbh.

You say that, but the price has reduced considerably over the year. I'm waiting for the C9 to get to the £1150 range, a £50 reduction dosn't seem to hard to hope for.

I don’t need to buy a tv, I don’t need to buy a tv, I don’t need to buy a TV.

I never realised that it has gone that low before, that is a cracking deal. I will patiently wait for it to come down. Luckily a new TV is not an essential right now. Toilet roll takes precedence!
Retailers running stocks down .They won't be here forever before the new model comes in at full price .
Anyone in the market for a 55” OLED next week Costco is doing the AG8 for £999 excluding VAT.
