Hate hukd's... cannot afford £1100 for a new tv.
Dont need a new tv as a brought a Samsung 55" tv 18 months ago and its brilliant and perfect.......but its not Oled or Qled...
And cause im a bloke and i need new tech to be able to get out of bed in the morning, i now have to buy it !
I am thinking about a new TV and I can only buy OLED as I am a goth and need the blackest blacks possible
These are lovely but unfortunately too dim if you have a really bright room

That's strange, mine is at a right angle to my living room window and the sun shines directly on it in the evenings, and it's still perfectly watchable.

The qleds are apparently more reliable. Juat saying.

But as this is the PLA its the better of the versions circling

That man tech struggle is real. I feel you bro.
Is the difference between the PLA and the SLC the speaker system only? I'm after a 65", but don't really want to pay the extra for speakers when I've already got an AV setup for that. My old pioneer kuro 50" has died on me. Trying to find a decent plasma replacement with deep blacks.

Kuro was the ultimate for blacks back in the day. I will stick my neck out and say the C8 is better, literally no light comes out when black is on the screen, simply amazing.
John Lewis price matched

What price did you get from them ? Going to their Leicester branch soon as wanted £969 b8 one but now wondering if its worth paying extra £100 for the c8 ? Is there any big differences for a normal user ?
Same as this , told them price prc was offering, checked it out and said they will match. Would recommend it, saw b8 and b9 in John Lewis and for the extra £100 no brainier.
Dam was about to buy the B8 65, but the difference is £250 to the C8..is it worth it?

The B8 has the older alpha 7 processor whereas the C8 the newer alpha 9 and better speakers on board.

I woud say yes defo worth the extra

Thanks Ekko just reading online some say the difference is not noticeable and if using an AV amp (ordering a new of those too) the speakers aren’t being used anyway. Gosh I dunno
Damn you hduk I have just arrived in the US for my holiday and I see this ..can I order and arrange delivery in 2 weeks or shall I wait

I have a strict rule that I stick by that I will buy a new tv every 5 years.new mobile every 4 years . these r expensive gadgets that keep changing and is not worth keeping up with the times.2022 is my next upgrade on both. Hot deals though.
I took the plunge and bought this a couple weeks ago from Richer Sounds who pricebeat Crampton & Moore's £1099. Anyway, overall I love it's performance... truly comes into it's own on HD 4K content with amazing upscaling on lesser quality transmissions too. However, one slight downside, which I echo from other previous posters, is that in a big bright room it can suffer significantly and appear too dim. There are ways to alleviate the impact daylight can have though and then at night time the colours pop, complimenting the immense blacks excellently to produce really really superb images!
Mines slap bang right next to a bright window and have no problems with it being dim. It's 100x brighter than my old vt20 plasma

What's the difference between this and the B8? Is it just the motion processor?

You asked if it was worth it and the answer is yes. The C8 is a very good TV

If the sound is of no use to you then you can save a few bob but the A9 processor is an improvement over the A7

You have to decide what is important for you
Very tempted to buy this but I'm torn between this and the Samsung Q9FN which is also meant to be amazing and very close to OLED. Will vote hot as this is a great deal.
What about Sony XF9005 led tv, which has good reviews (except bit poor viewing angles) ? It's around £900 now and no burn-in issues. Many are still warning about burning in OLEDs. I watch a lot of documentaries, news and movies. Should I be worried about burn in? I don't want to really keep changing channels just because I got oled (by keeping timers and stuff to avoid burning). Any suggestions much appreciated.
Just left RS and got it for £1075 😁 happy days
Great price but I'm waiting for the Sony OLED to come down in price....

That's exactly how you will view the Q9FN......its very close to OLED....but not quite.
I have one of these and it is the best picture I have seen on any TV.

This TV has pixel shift. You will never see it with the naked eye but when ever there is a constant logo on screen this technology kicks in to prevent burn.
This always rears its head but I am yet to hear from anyone that has actually had burn from this tv.
