This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

So, this is long winded but I think it'll work. I'll break it down into steps:

Started off at £1,499

1. Went though Quidco to Currys (6% cashback on LG OLEDs).

2. Used studentbeans to get 10% discount code for TVs over £250 - saved £149 as opposed to £125 offered by Currys, which is TVSAVE125 in case you're not a student.

3. Then I used my hapi benefits scheme (work privilege scheme) to buy Currys e-vouchers with 8% discount. Military/Emergency services discount services, such as Blue light, do 6% discount on Currys e-vouchers.

4. Free delivery - ordered on Friday, coming on Sunday.

5. Plus - a long shot I know, but there's a 1 in 10 chance of only paying half the price for the TV (find out 30 days after purchase), see the photo.

The maths should be as follows:

£1,499 - 10% = £1,349.10 (Student discount)
Saving of - £149

£1,349.10 - 6% = £1,268. 15 (Quidco discount)
Saving of - £81.10

£1349 - 8% = £107.83

Totalling:
£1,499 -
£337.93 discount
= £1,161.07 for a 55" C9 OLED.

YES I am petrified of buying it from Currys and yes I have tried Price Match at RS, the response was 'no way José'. I could not wait for BF because I'm too giddy about getting one and want one yesterday. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed about the Quidco cashback and I'll keep my love spuds crossed for the 1 in 10 'pay half price' draw in 30 days.

Hope it works for you, if I remember anything else I will update accordingly.

***Update on price. £1249.17 total price, excluding Quidco cashback - smallprint, as some of you have pointed out, says no. ***

Great deal if it works but I’m sure that you can’t use prepaid / gift cards with Quidco?

Ssssssugar
Heat for effort but Currys will likely decline cashback when a voucher code is used (speaking from experience). Great price if all the stars align though!
You won't regret it. Lying on the sofa right now watching The Expanse in UHD on 55C8. Amazing picture.
Quidco doesn’t pay out on currys purchases if paid for by gift voucher. Still a good price without the cashback mind

Fantastic TV. The "smart" webos stuff is pants of course, but the TV itself is awesome.

i'm comparing it with an nvidia shield, i haven't used the smart features of the TV since the first week I bought the TV. It's pants. Android TVs that cost half as much as LG OLEDs are way better. Each unto his own I suppose, it's not good from my opinion. I like using Kodi, I prefer the play store in the shield etc.
I’m looking for a new TV and will happily admit, I am not up to date with the best TV tech.

I can also get 8% off in vouchers from work, so purely from a picture quality, is 1200£ or so (ignoring Quidco) great for the picture?

Last TV I bought for the main living room was an 8series Samsung with just HD around 8 years ago, so aware technology had moved on.

But as I paid about 1100 for that, I feel it has been a good investment and now, happy to move on to something else with 4K.

Added to this, I already have Sonos surround sound in the living room + Philips hue lighting, so sound and ambilighting isn’t important as I can use 2 hue strips. What I am looking for is purely a quality picture.

The Nvidia shield that's control pad won't hold a charge due to software issues? Cool beans.
I want to by Oled but I am worried about glare my TV is wall mounted and 30% sits opposite window.
I have the 65" C8 and it is an amazing TV, I am not sure what the negative comments are on Webos, I think it's brilliant!
Also a big fan of webos

That's one of my concerns too, along with screen burn and the very thin panel (I know it has some give but its really thin!).

Exactly what I’m planning on the 65inch c9 come BF!

It's arrived!! Credit given where credit is due, the delivery slot was text'd to me yesterday and I received a phone call this morning to advise me that my delivery was due in the next 10 minutes. Sure enough, two friendly delivery guys turned up 10 minutes later and carried it upstairs to my room, job done! Now for the setting up :/
Do we have to join the army first to get this deal ?
I need help!
38796227-gbqru.jpgI'm playing the Dolby Atmos demo videos and kind of expecting the pictures to be pretty good quality.
38796227-NzzFf.jpgWhy is the sky, as well as other images, really grainy?

Nothing internal, just the aesthetics, in other words the MLB is light steel finish and the PLA is dark steel finish.

Stacked Student Beans and Quidco. Can't get the work vouchers tho. Either way, cheap enough for me to bite prior to black Friday - cheers
Had my lg c9 from curry’s for 2 weeks and it broke today. Hopefully can get a refund or exchange.

How did it damn hopefully you get it fixed I was hoping to get one around black friday these kinds of problems put me off
Turned it off by standby as normal and it wouldn’t turn back on and screen just flash when I press on button, red light is still on at bottom. Got it come on and it then turned off again. Not happy at all as wasn’t a cheap purchase

Just turn it off and on again lad
any ideas what the price drop will be for the 65 C9 and 55 C9 in black friday? what happened last year? I do not have a TV and i am holding up until black friday to get one. Also what is wrong with currys? (refering to the original post who said he is petrified with currys)
Been thinking of getting an oled but i only have standard sky hd (not q) and a standard ps4 is it worth it?

I've been using a PS3 (for bluray), Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube. The picture has been outstanding compared to my old Panasonic Plasma, so personally I think it's worth it.
Every time I get close to buying a new tv. (Max £1500 budget) Someone suggests how a different model is better for this or that. It’s So hard to make a final decision. The consensus appears to be the C9. Would anyone disagree? Also, Would anyone recommend a reasonably priced sound bar to go with it? (If required) Cheers.

It’s the best TV at the moment. Just checkout RTings who rate TV based on so many different factors. They’re the most reliable, technical and trusted people out there.

I was in the same rut as you and took the plunge with the C9. I am my own worst nightmare and always see if there is anything better or to see if I have made the wrong choice by going into Curry's, John Lewis etc. I have to say, I made the right choice with the C9, the picture is superb and every one passes comment on how realistic it is. I, also like you, am now looking for a decent sound bar, but don't want to be eating Asda Smartprice Supanoodles for the next five years! The LG S8 (currys.co.uk/gbu…tml?store=1805&&istCompanyId=bec25c7e-cbcd-460d-81d5-a25372d2e3d7&istFeedId=2928af81-b29b-476c-a180-ac5de265a98e&istItemId=wwaxwawwt&istBid=t&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~0047+(PLA)+HOME+THEATRE+KITS~All+Products~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&kwid=GOOGLE&device=m&ds_kids=92700049599748620&tgtid=0047+(PLA)+HOME+THEATRE+KITS&gclsrc=aw.ds&&&gclid=CjwKCAiA_MPuBRB5EiwAHTTvMeRGn9JYhhkoV0wUNt0LTf52epaWP6hL3mGOsuuc1AxF84uHgcNJlBoCtGoQAvD_BwEis) on offer for £299 which is Dolby Atmos as well. However, I think I prefer the idea of satellite speakers for that 'Saving Ryan's Privates" I mean "Saving Private Ryan" effect. Help?
Anyone know if you can install c9 stand to older b8 model?
