LG’s C9 combines 4K HDR cinema screen design with advanced AI to further enhance both picture and sound. Perfect Colour on Perfect Black ensures real-world colour and contrast, while Dolby Atmos sound unites with Dolby Vision HDR for a cinematic experience. Use LG’s award-winning webOS Smart platform to stream shows from such apps as Netflix*, and navigate with the intuitive Magic Remote. With this Thinq AI TV you can interact by voice, with the Google Assistant and Alexa built in. Front-firing sound and a streamlined alpine stand mean its slim profile matches its spectacular visuals.

Impeccable 4K OLED Screen
Organic LED tech fuses with 4K resolution for superior contrast, colour and clarity. OLED pixels are self-lighting, meaning that they can switch on-and-off individually, for the deepest blacks and super-bright whites. Compared to regular LED screens, LG's panel adds an extra white sub-pixel, delivering ultra-fine gradation and a true-to-life colour palette.

4K Cinema HDR with Dolby Vision
HDR deepens your view and shows shades previously unseen in home entertainment. Expanding light, dark and every colour in between to extraordinary new levels, this model's picture gets closer to real life. LG's 4K Cinema HDR supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR by Technicolor and HDR10 Pro.

4K Ultra High Definition
This 55” screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p Full HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail.

Features:

Perfect Colour on Perfect Black: thanks to the OLED screen's self emitting pixels, colour representation is lifelike and wide-ranging, on a background of perfect blacks and rich detail, even in dark shades.

Alpha 9 Gen 2 Processor: Powered by advanced AI, LG’s intelligent processor delivers a premium OLED picture, optimising picture and sound, whatever you’re watching.

Dolby Atmos Sound: immersive Dolby Atmos places sound within three dimensions for an enveloping soundscape, with you at the centre. Coupled with Dolby Vision HDR, it's a fully cinematic experience.

Thinq AI: bringing the intelligence and convenience of voice interaction to the living room, this Thinq AI TV can listen, think and respond to your questions.

4K High Frame Rate via HDMI : With full HDMI 2.1 compatibility, this LG TV can handle High Frame Rates for smoother motion, so even the most frantic sporting action is crisp and blur-free.

Are these really worth over 3 times the price of the entry-level 4k …Are these really worth over 3 times the price of the entry-level 4k Samsungs?

Yes. I have the 2017 model and was just blown away by the picture quality of OLED. The only way I can explain it is even when watching just 1080p the jump to OLED is far more impressive than the jump from 1080p to 4K. However when you add 4K and HDR things are just even better. I would not have anything less now as the main living room TV.

As a gamer I want a 2019 model. The recent addition of G-Sync support via a software update and true 120Hz image make this about the best gaming TV available, beating the BFGD gaming displays. Only trouble at the moment is no NVIDIA cards supporting HDMI2.1 so the 120Hz is limited to 1440p until compatible gpu’s come out which support HDMI2.1 making the 4K 120Hz achievable.

I own this C9, it's also worth mentioning the input latency is 12ms (less than a frame!). Incredible TV and an incredible deal.
in-store only now
Will the £100 code still work for this? Can’t see any mention of it on their page.

The newer panels have much larger sub pixels, meaning that the likelihood of colour wear on individual pixels is significantly lower.
