Great price for this with that massive guarantee

3413077-ghsfJ.jpgSee the OLED difference for yourself
With advanced Pixel Level Dimming, OLED remains one of the best options for class-leading picture quality. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Powerful new processor at its heart
With the a9 Gen 2 processor at its heart, this 55 inch LG TV is not only faster at processing but brings about a whole host of new features. Intelligent Artificial Intelligence (AI) benefits both picture and sound for the clearest images and audio yet. Combined with HDMI2.1 sockets, the powerful processor also supports exciting new picture technologies, such as High Frame Rate and Dynamic HDR.

HDMI 2.1 connectivity for wider support
Featuring HDMI 2.1 sockets gives this LG greatly enhanced connectivity. HDMI 2.1 supports Dynamic HDR. This lets the TV adjust the picture frame-by-frame for active control of the contrast. For gaming and VR headset use, Variable Refresh Rate and Quick Frame Transport aim to reduce lag and provide a smoother and more responsive feel. HDMI 2.1 also supports eARC – an upgraded Audio Return Channel that supports DTS:X and Dolby Atmos from TV to audio system.

AI Picture
Artificial Intelligence comes of age with LG’s Deep Learning AI Picture. This clever system compares the signal with a table of content and automatically adjusts the picture quality to the most accurate image possible. Using an ambient light sensor, the system adjusts screen brightness and other criteria (with HDR signals). The result is greater realism with a cleaner and sharper picture.

AI Sound
If you fancy a more cinematic sound from your TV, then LG’s AI Sound should be music to your ears. Using AI algorithms, AI Sound up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 5.1 sound – giving a much more immersive sound stage. The powerful a9 Gen 2 processor also optimises the sound based on content type – giving clearer vocals with news and dramas. The powerful AI can also take account of your room’s acoustics and layout and adjusts to give the cleanest sound possible.

Dolby Atmos compatible sound
With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in this LG OLED 55” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for an even more immersive sound. With its built-in 2.2 speaker set-up and a 40 watt amp, the OLED55C9PLA delivers a smooth, well-balanced sound.

Upgrade to wireless surround sound with WiSA*
WiSA stands for Wireless Speaker & Audio. The system wirelessly streams sound up to 24bit 96kHz, 8-channels and includes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. WiSA is flexible as you decide which speakers you want and where you want them – they don’t even have to be from LG. Simply look for WiSA supported speakers and decide how you’d like your audio to sound. *Separate dongle purchase required.

Now featuring Apple AirPlay 2 and Apple TV app
With support for Apple AirPlay 2, this LG 55 inch TV lets you effortlessly stream from your Apple device. Even better, support for Apple’s TV app means you can enjoy Apple’s 4K HDR content – featuring top quality Dolby Atmos and Vision. Support for Apple’s HomeKit makes this LG highly compatible with the whole Apple system.

Smart voice control – ThinQ AI integrates with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa*
Voice control has got much smarter with this LG TV. Press the dedicated voice mic button and ThinQ AI decides if the TV’s software or Google Assistant handles the command. Google Assistant is capable of changing the channel and input via voice command. It also integrates with services such as Google Photos and Google Maps to make your TV an even greater source of entertainment. As an alternative, direct voice control via Amazon Alexa is also set to be an option from mid/late 2019. *Alexa built-in upgrade due later in the year.

Better processor so menus are snappier, image processing is better, and the screen itself is better, can hit higher peak brightness.

Worth the difference Imo.

Newer set and 1 more year warranty may swing it.

£1999 I can see bud
These never seem to dip in price much for they all have the Apple TV app 🍎?
Got this for £1249 (price matched) about a month ago from RS. Very happy with it.

You got a c9 for 1099 or a b9?
I got this for £1150 from JL back in January. Waiting for it to go back to that price to pick up a model for my parents, great TV!
mitchellsx26/02/2020 11:09

Lol B9 has that also

Oh aye, I’m in a daze trying to convince myself to buy this and thought we were comparing the 8 range for some reason. My bad

They haven't changed the new ones enough to make waiting for a new one worth it. This is a great telly but it's worth watching prices if not in a hurry.
Good tv. Panasonic GZ950 and love it. Good to be in the OLED camp after plasmas. The c9 is excellent. I would avoid the B9 given the small difference in price and black crush/clipping.

From experience I will say don’t focus on extra future and 8k HDMI/tv features too much. 120hz still has not been tested properly. Not to mention hardly any market share yet. Better to wait till PS5 Pro for those! Even then how many games are 60 FPS reliably nowadays?

A good picture will support every game, movie and tv show. 120 FPS won’t.

My Panasonic plasma is still going strong and I think OLED is the only picture i've seen to rival it. I don't really have much reason to change yet other than having a bigger screen though I'm very tempted
Absolutely brilliant TV. Nothing beats this at the price.
Paying more than 1099 for 55 C9 at this time of year is not right to me even without sky offer. Lg pricing are seems to be joke. Wait till end of March if want to save 200-300 pounds.

C8 went as low as £1049 so its possible

Around Black Friday and in early December people bought 55 C9 for 1099 and 65 C9 1599 with sky offers. I don’t understand why anyone can settle for high prices whereas some lucky ones got it so such good price months ago. CX is already knocking the door.
I have a B7 and a C9. The C9 is SO much faster in menus and launching apps like netflix

I encourage anyone that can afford the C9 over the B9 to do so as it will likely last you a lot longer

Image quality is excellent
