With advanced Pixel Level Dimming, OLED remains one of the best options for class-leading picture quality. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Powerful new processor at its heart
With the a9 Gen 2 processor at its heart, this 55 inch LG TV is not only faster at processing but brings about a whole host of new features. Intelligent Artificial Intelligence (AI) benefits both picture and sound for the clearest images and audio yet. Combined with HDMI2.1 sockets, the powerful processor also supports exciting new picture technologies, such as High Frame Rate and Dynamic HDR.

HDMI 2.1 connectivity for wider support
Featuring HDMI 2.1 sockets gives this LG greatly enhanced connectivity. HDMI 2.1 supports Dynamic HDR. This lets the TV adjust the picture frame-by-frame for active control of the contrast. For gaming and VR headset use, Variable Refresh Rate and Quick Frame Transport aim to reduce lag and provide a smoother and more responsive feel. HDMI 2.1 also supports eARC– an upgraded Audio Return Channel that supports DTS:X and Dolby Atmos from TV to audio system.

Any issues with screen burn? (Had to ask as I'm debating on getting one)

I’ve had two OLEDs B7 and B8, they both have screen burn, but only if you put a single colour up. Also it tends to fade over time.... but it’s still not great.

Apple TV Menus burnt into both of them. However I sold one and gave one to my Mum, so I’m going to buy the C9 for Gsync and 120hrz 4K.

If it bothers you like dead pixels, I wouldn’t buy one. However if you don’t pay attention, you won’t notice.

I would never use one as a monitor however, or if I only watched one thing. Burn isn’t burn, it’s wear, so if you watch lots of movies with black bars for a year, then put a bright white image up, you will see the white brighter where the black bars were.

If you have a Galaxy Phone, put a single white image up. You’ll see burn all over the shop, the status bar at the top will be a much brighter shade of white, you’ll see the menu icons at the bottom burnt, you’ll even see the keypad.

I recently sold my s8 and it had burn in alright. I the grey menu bar at the bottom. So I'm staying away from oled phones now probably but I'll switch to an oled TV for movies and games.

Not sure about the extra money off but why would you do that anyway?
6 year guarantee with RS, 5 with Currys
Come on baby. 1K is the sweet spot for me now
I paid 1425 Tuesday with TV75Code.
Gonna call tomorrow for £50 refund.
Although I bought on 18 month interest free, so maybe the wont honour the 7 day price match?
1k would be good but I don’t think this would go that low even on Black Friday as it’s already popular

Crazy price. This is QLED money for god's sake!
Having trouble deciding whether to get a 55” or 65”

I had decided on buying an OLED, have had OLED phones for the past 5 years with minimal screen burn. I looked at the display in selfridges London in February, they have E9's IIRC, picture was stunning. I visited London again in August, and 6 out of the 9 TV's on display have bad screen burn. Maybe it's because they have the same demos on all the time, but I am now considering a QLED instead.

Never had oled or qled I'm going from a 49" lcd hd and OLED just blows my mind when I see it in store, qled doesnt quite jump out to me as much

Have 65c8 and it's amazing. Important thing is do ya research and set it up for each situation. Look at the forums and all the info is there. The right settings make all the difference and I'm convinced that can make all the difference with burn in or not. There's also live zoom to get rid of banners on channels with banners.

Just buy this TV, then you can use the fire stick as a pretend cigar (as this TV has smart features built in, such as Netflix, Amazon and BBC iPlayer, through which you can access 4K content)

Yes, I did this for this TV when it was more expensive, been seeing it steadily lower over the last few month. But yes they refunded me. It still gorgeous and very happy with it. Menu is fast, stand definition TV upscales well. Of course 4k hdr... Looks freaken amazing

I have a C7 oled and have never had screen burn. I would definitely recommend an oled for sheer depth of picture quality. Once you see oled it's hard to go back to led.
Wow and Richer Sounds tried to sell me this the other day for 1499

They should do. It’s still a purchase buddy, no matter how you’re paying, you’ve purchased the unit and agreed to pay in full just across a longer term
Correct me if I am wrong, but I am almost certain this year’s C9 is dropping much quicker in price than last year’s C8 did.

Sure the C8 hit £1500 on Black Friday, and then never really got near it again into the new year.

Probably because there is absolutely no need to have a new TV every single year.
If I change to this from my trusty Panny plasma, will I be disappointed?
For this price there isn’t a better tv you can buy.
