Perfect picture, perfect colours
Movies, shows and games pop off the screen and right into your living room with the LG OLED55C9PLA 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR OLED TVwith Google Assistant and its α9 Intelligent Processor. It's pretty technical and impressive but all you need to know is that it makes your entertainment incredibly lifelike and full of wonderful detail.

HDR gives you the deepest black background and bold, bright colours for incredible contrast. And with OLED every single pixel on the screen gives its own light, so it's a world away from standard, one backlight, LED. Just wait till you switch on a nature documentary and see every shade in a glorious savannah sunset.

Dolby Atmos gets the sound going

With a picture this good, you need great sound too. The LG C9 more than matches up with Dolby Atmos. Made for movies, get into that big blockbuster with 3D surround sound immersing you in the action. With a TV this good your local cinema might get jealous.

A feast of content right on your screen

With fantastic shows in different places, it can be annoying tracking everything down. The C9 comes to the rescue with all your favourites from Netflix to YouTube there on your screen with a press of a button. You can even cycle back through the week and catch up on any shows you missed with Freview Play. So start streaming, get bingeing, or kick back and watch some music videos.

Google Assistant and ThinQ AI

Hooray! You can finally use your voice to change the channel. The C9 has Google Assistant so you can switch shows or turn the volume up just by speaking into the remote. And if you've got any other LG smart home products around the house, maybe some smart lights, you can control them through the TV thanks to ThinQ. Switch on a movie and dim the lights at the same time, just by having a word with your telly.

Stand to attention

The LG's stylish stand doesn't just look good, it's been designed to funnel sound from the TV's downward firing speaker right at you, so you'll always get loud, clear audio.

Bangin’. Cheapest I’ve seen the C9 so far.

I get the impression the 2020 models that replace these are not a particularly significant step up, so it's a great deal.

Well apart from the Panasonic HZ which are allegedly amazing. For at least twice this price I would imagine.
I bought this during black tag last year and I absolutely love this TV. Super fast processor makes the TV more enjoyable to use than 90% of Android TV boxes out there. The picture quality is phenomenal as is the contrast.
Not rushing for OLEDs they are still dark in bright room especially when watching HDR content. Next year should be fun.

How to you know if you don't own one .Huge choice of settings Inc light or dark room .
I know it's not the all time low but it's time right?!
Anyone tries convincing any retails to throw in the Sl8yg for 200 quid extra ontop of the c9 instead of the b9?

All the bundles with the c9 sound bars are too big for my tv cabinet while the sl8 fits nicely on the shelves

Or i am living in a pipe dream?

Rubbish again from you Tank. Still sticking by your claim OLED is not good for gaming?

It appears that way. 9 series has HDMi 2.1, eARC, new Apple and Disney + apps. VRR and ALM for gaming.

No big step ups for the 2020 models so these are a better buy at the moment. Only thing that interests me about the new ones is the 48" version
I love my C9, brilliant TV however during the day it's a pain to watch if you have a lot of windows in the room. The screen is glossy and pics up reflections easily making darker shows hard to watch. (Yes I have it set to bright room) So take that into consideration - I have no regrets
FYI you can call richer sounds to price match and they'll give you this TV for £20 less than this, so £1180 and 6 year warranty.

I’m in same boat. But my brain tells me to take the plunge now as the 48” will be £300 more than this deal until around November time I assume.

Yeah 48" is looking expensive. Might even hold that value longer as production costs for it are apparently high

I’m edging towards John Lewis with the warranty they offer. Not totally sure why.

Do you have one? (Assuming not) I’ve got one in a south facing living room next to French doors so is full of light and there is no issue with brightness at all

Of course 150 better in my pocket than currys
Brilliant tv .. got mine in December when they we’re doing half price sky with it .. this is a great price
Presumably if John Lewis price match now they may be the ones to go with if we think the price will further drop with the cx arriving . The reason being that if it does go down further within 28 days of purchase they will match that further reduction as far as I understand it .
Great price. I’m tempted

Exactly what I have blackout curtains for.
Excellent price. Only started following this particular TV last week reviews seem rock solid. Surely this is the best TV available for that money right now? Or can anyone suggest something better and very close to this price.

If you want bigger go with the 65 b9 from Costco .At 1399 it is the cheapest ever in UK .
5 year warranty
30 days price guarantee
90 days no quibble return so if you are over the 30 days price watch and they reduce further simply return TV free of charge and reorder ,

Its for the bedroom. Was looking out for a 49" but this caught my eye recently and couldn't resist at this price. Thanks op

Anyone have a confirmed JL price match ?

im also wondering what’s the real world difference between the b9 and c9? The b9 being 200 cheaper right now.

This is the best tv you can buy for this kind of money. Anything better would cost £2-300 more (E9 with sound bar included). I have the 65E8 and this and they are both brilliant buys. Avoid the B9 though

Rubbish unfortunately .You will be hard pressed to see a difference .Respected online reviews say not worth the difference which on the 65 is 400! Maybe 200 on the 55 .
B9 is LG biggest oled seller so doesn't seem to be avoided.

Yes, I purchased mine from JL earlier this week due to their 28 day price promise and as I thought another discount may be on the cards.

The automated system rejected the request (due to the voucher) but I sent a reply with a screen grab and it's been sorted.

Regarding brightness and reflections, I'm finding it better than my 10 year old panasonic plasma and more than good enough for my South facing living room.

Hot deal!

Wow - I also have a 10 yr old Panasonic plasma! That’s what I’m trying to replace. I love it’s cinematic tones and don’t like lcd or super fast game refresh style sets so hoping OLED works out. Would be keen to know how you found using it comparing the two, as I’m pretty much in the same boat.

Will be a shame to see the panny go tho. Lasted 10yrs and not a glitch. Lasted thru years of my kids throwing wii controllers at it too!

Why avoid the b9? I’m happy to pay the extra to go c9 but expect it to carry added value if I do. Can’t afford e9.

I emailed earlier to ask for a price match as the girl on the phone said they don’t match codes although they have and online say they do.

My Panasonic is also still going strong, but after been stuck in quarintine I felt it time to upgrade. My Panasonic has 25,000hrs usage so owed me nothing!

Compared to the plasma I'm liking the following above getting 4k and Hdr:

Size- 55" vs 46" in the same overall footprint
Contrast- the blacks are definitely blacker on the OLED.
OS- the Web OS on the LG is great. Not having to boot the Ps4 is far more convenient for smart features. The magic remote is great
Reflections and brightness--as already mentioned I'm finding it easier to see than the panny in my bright South facing living room. This was one reason to consider a Qled but now I have the OLED I'm glad I didn't.

Still very much in the honeymoon period but have no regrets on the upgrade. I'm equally pleased with the upscalling, I was concerned that standard definition broadcasts would look awful, I find it perfectly acceptable.
