LG OLED55E7N John Lewis £1999 5 Year Guarantee Dolby Atmos Soundbar - £2,499 - with £500 cashback deal

28
Found 24th Jan
Cheapest i can find at present. You will need to pay the £2499 and claim £500 30 days after purchase.

John Lewis piece of mind.

£500 finishes by end of January. I would expect to see these coming down to this price once the LG cashback deals end.

Hmm not my own
Better to buy the identical image wise B7 and put the £5-600 saving towards some decent sounds.
This not really a deal more so a reminder as to LG offer ending soon.

Totally agree. I have this model and the built in sound bar hasn't been used since month 1, tried all settings n tweaks. Buy the b7 and separate sound.

I got a JL pm with Reliant for 1.6k so paid full price 2.5k at JL and got £900 refund as well as £500 from LG and a little bit more via cashback site.
Its not just sound bar. Its picture on glass. The b7 is on plastic screens.
E7 is glass screen.
They won't drop in price, LG have stoped supply and alot of places are running low on stock. Look up price for previous model E6. Still looking £1600 for anywer that has it in stock.
I ordered my E7 £1900 from currys other day.
I ordered from some where else they had refund me because of no stock. They informed me LG are only supplying E8 model now and its alot more expensive££. So my suggestion is take the LG cash deal

That's just an aesthetic thing and mostly relevant to when the TV is turned off, it doesn't affect the image quality, the panels and processing are 100% identical.

I don't know why ur arguing. Looking through plastic is not same as looking through glass lol. The picture would appear better through glass.
I kno the internal are same.
This is a great telly, we went from a 8 year old Samsung Plasma to this and, the picture is great, and the sound is fine through the built in soundbar although we use a seperate cinema system. Also the LG WEB OS and magic remote are fantastic. Iplayer/Amazon Prime and all the catchup built in, so no more faffing around with dongles. Connected this up to my satellite feed to use freesat, and got rid of sky after I added a portable HDD for recording. Managed to get it on a pricematch for £2k with JL just before christmas, and waiting now for the £500 LG cashback. The only problem we had was it never fitted our existing bracket, so ended up getting the official LG one through Richer Sounds.

I have the E7 from the JL/cashback deal. The speakers are very good (as good as tv speakers can be). I only bought the E7 over tge B7 because of the price on that deal, wouldn't pay a premium over the B7.

The speakers in the E7 and B7 are the same they just couldn't mount them on them back like B7, guessing due to the glass back.

I've used the Magic Sound Tuning option and selected the Bass option but I feel there isn't quite as much bass as I'd like.

My original plan was to use the tv speakers for fronts and hook up a sub and rear speakers (cleaner look at the front) but you can only do this with an optical out cable not HDMI. The problem is you can't use an optical for Dolby TrueHD audio (which the tv speakers now support).

There are a few other differences between the E7 and B7 but I personally don't think it's worth the big premium.

When the screen is on it leaves about 10 cm of the screen around the edges black, so it looks like it has a frame anyway.

Not arguing, i actually agreed BUT expanded on your point so potential purchasers know what real difference that £600 piece of glass makes so they can make an informed choice.

All the reviews I've seen say the glass makes no difference to your viewing pleasure I found the same but if you think it does then that's the extra justified for you which is good.

Anyone want to share their sound settings... Please do. Couldn't get a decent clear voice over background sounds mix no matter what i tried. Example.... Watching a movie and in a loud scene, speech totally drowned out. After much tweaking....voices had too much treble and hiss...but loud
Switching to my old Sony surround amp and tannoy speakers.... Light n day.

I'm not sure this is correct. I remember something about breaking the glass if not unboxed correctly on my C6 which also isn't, "picture on glass." I think picture on glass is an LG marketing term meaning the screen is thin from top to bottom. On the B and C series, the screen is thin for the top half and then the workings of the TV introduce bulk at the bottom half.

Tv sound settings?? There's not that many settings you can change. But if it's the tv you're talking about. Try turning Dolby Atmos on (if it's not on), that seems to make a dig difference to my tv especially the volume (about 4/5 increments) but does sound better so I leave it on and turn it up.

Have you been through the magic tuning settings too? That helps a little.

Yikes. You have to make sure there are holes mid way then gaps rest of the way down on the actual bracket eg...
amazon.co.uk/gp/…unt

I added spacers to mine in case I use a soundbar mount at a later date.
I got the 55" version and the only think I don't like that the 55 doesn't look the same as the 65. The stand is different. First I thought they have send me the E6 model with the E7 badge (probably is anyway except THE 3D). That how it feels.
Otherwise I don't have issues with sound at all. Except when I play Netflix but I think it is a Netflix issue. Otherwise in the evening I need to turn the TV down to level 10 volume. It can be loud. For Netflix I use soundbar and during the day. It is a great TV.
John Lewis said they have 168 in stock on 23 January 2018 and will get more on 5 Feb 2018. It’s interesting to know they are still receiving 2017 models despite the launch of the 2018 models at CES.

It’s difficult to predict what will happen when the £500 cashback offer ends. LG presumably ran the promotion to clear out their own stock before the new models arrive. I suspect most buyers will have gone for the cheaper B7 and shunned the E7 due to its high price for a minor (?) improvement in sound quality, perhaps leaving LG with more stock than they want.

Looks like I missed good deal during boxing day sale. Do you guys think this will come down ?
Also it is football world cup year but saying that new models would not reduce the prices
