Someone pointed out the other day that new models come out with very little discernible difference from the previous models

I will throw my hat in the ring now and say what I think.

All software and hardware companies are getting like the FIFA games.
The new yearly version comes out and it looks just the same with some small updates.
Phone manufacturers are the same. New version out and update it for 2 years. Then make you buy the new model, because they stopped making their own updates for android.
Just put the hardware in that will compensate for 4k HDR, write decent software for it, put it in the telly and SELL IT TO US FINISHED. Then just send unobtrusive updates over FTA
How hard does it have to be?

Rule of thumb when buying a TV
If it covers all the connections you need, buy it
If you like the look of the picture, buy it.
If there's not lots of cables to come out of it and stops the wife moaning, buy it.
If it does what YOU want it to do, don't listen to the vestel brothers, nit brigade or the fald cavalry, BUY IT

Yeah, you were wrong last week and you’re still wrong today. It’s not glass on glass - it’s picture on glass. All LG OLED’s display their picture on glass. The little bit of glass that sticks out underneath your TV might look cool but does not change the image quality whatsoever: rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-c8-vs-lg-e8/600/608

In fact, the C8 actually appears to be thinner with a slightly smaller bezel so it could be argued which one is more aesthetically pleasing

Finally, all reviews say that moving the soundbar to the back of the panel has unfortunately reduced the quality of the sound compared to the E7. Still maintain you’d get better results from a separate soundbar

You bought a great TV but you can stop pretending that you have better image quality than C8 owners. You don’t

One last time: picture on glass does not affect image quality. C8, E8 and W8 all have identical panels with identical image quality. Post me one credible piece of evidence that says otherwise if you can find it?

Personally I’d save the money, get a B8/C8 and spend the difference on a discrete sound solution. The soundbar in this is supposed to be a little underwhelming

If I pay for the product it's obvious I decide.. Wow and I can voice a opinion, some will agree some won't.. This is basic thinking.

Why should people voice this opinion. LG are giving people options and not …Why should people voice this opinion. LG are giving people options and not forcing consumers towards anything. Want a great TV, get a 2018 model at a reduced and reasonable price. Want the latest and greatest, pay some more for 2019 option. Where do you pull this "£300 worth of options" number from? Sorry mate but who are you to decide this is the value of the changes and additions they have made. Everyone values things differently depending on a wide variety of circumstances.Classic sense of entitlement

Yes thanks for agreeing.. They will have the option to be ripped off but think their not or wait for the price it should be in the first place
Muppet. Try constructing a proper sentence. May give you some credibility that is otherwise lacking

I don't need credibility.. I leave that child like thinking to other people.. Also you didn't carry on your basic thinking argument.. But what I was trying to point out if they made profit from the panel last year they have a opportunity to sell this year's line up for a extremely competitive price.. But you think they shouldn't

Anyone got a clip?I hear tales of general motion judder on certain footage on the B8 (only?)? I tried to check it out in a shop but getting the required footage on screen was an issue.

I'veSeen judder on a B7 but putting the set to game mode when watching football on sky has removed the issue. E8 is much better in my experience probably due to the better processor. Still have it on game mode, though, just to be sure. Also calibrated both sets based on advice from other users found online.
What’s the difference between this and the LG OLED one that was less than £1k about a month or so back? (Aside from over £500 difference of course)

65”. TV looks small because the soundbar is so long. Samsung MS650 with wireless rear speakers and a separate subwoofer. Neighbors love me
