I would rate Samsung over LG any day, the only thing they do well is their OLED range. Their IPS panels which they tend to use in most of their own TV's are poor when it comes to contrast ratios and screen uniformity. Samsung on the other hand use VA panels which give you deeper blacks/better contrast ratios though the viewing angle is tighter than IPS. Avoid Toshiba, they're made by Vestel, a company that knocks out low price poorly made TV's that is unless they come with an extended five year + warranty. Hisense make decent quality TV's, a 65" can be had for around the £600 mark if you shop around, they come with either a two or three year warranty also.
Useful as a price match attempt maybe but wouldn’t want to purchase from a one store N.I. Retailer with no idea who backs the 5 yr guarantee.

I got an LG and I am absolutely blown away with it. It’s amazing TV.
Got to be OLED though and it will cost about 1500
John Lewis price matched, thank you OP
glad yous are getting sorted on price matches guys. I'm tempted myself but only bought a 55" Panasonic ez952 for around 1300 in April. oled is coming down in price for sure. this is a crazy price for 65". it's not so long ago we seen 65" oleds for around the 4k mark lol
Is it worth waiting to see if the 65 C8 drops to £2,000 or £2,099 like it did on BF? Or is this better value at £1800?
Didn't price match me:

imo the difference isn't vast. picture is the same. it's just the motion processing. a7 vs a9. from what I've read and witnessed on my previous e6 and read about on av forums the motion processing isn't one of Lgs strong points. if you don't use true motion and have it switched off I don't think there will be much difference if any at all

No price match then
Didn't price match me in store, said they need at least two stores to match price.

Thank you. I think I'll buy this, save the £300 (that I would have spent on the c8) and buy my daughter a Nintendo switch.

most likely the right decision
If anyone sees the 55C8 or 55E8 on sale please post - 65 is too big for our room and I want either the C8 or E8 (better audio) in 55 inch.

Managed to get a JL price match.
Bought this just today from Currys for £2000, tried to get them to price match Crampton and Moore but they refused under the warranty difference saying they dont offer an LG warranty although it turns out they do.

Anyone have experience getting JL to price match then getting Curry’s to match JL’s price match?
£200 better in my pocket than theirs.
