Where does this sit in the range? Is this the best or several down?

Three down from the top. C9, E9 and W9 are better.

It's the cheapest and lowest performing OLED but still amazing.

Same panel as all other models, just slower processor and missing a few features that might not bother you.

C9 and up are all same except sound and form factor
Beware guarantee does not cover screen burn, my brothers LG OLED, had this after 15months, LG would not cover, even though it was the logo from the Freeview menu that had burnt into the screen, and after paying over £1500 he is not amused !!
Customer services offered to change screen at a cost of £400 , again he was not amused , so buyer beware.

Which model? The newer ones such as the C9 are meant to have new features that prevents burn in issues by refreshing the screen

Better in what sense? Design only. Otherwise C9 is the best if you check RTings that provides objective ratings

So refreshing to read a short but very informative and productive summary on this model! Shame we can’t have more like this.

I do not know the model, but will ask when I can get hold of him, I do know it had the system for 'refreshing' the screen etc as he tried that many times when he started seeing the Freeview logo staying on the screen, I think the main thing is to check the warranty - especially the extended one, that it will cover such things as screen burn - as paying out over 1k for a TV, which you expect to at least last 5 years if not 10yrs, is not acceptable to have to live with screen burn.
