Wait c9 will come this price in first week of March. Samsung Q950R will also down low by end of March. Where you already wait so much two or three weeks will not make huge difference 🤪

Friend bought 65c9 for 1599 with sky q offer which I believe would be still better offer for C9 being for 1499. C9 is bit brighter compare B9 as what I compared side by side. May be its due to b9 weaker processor comparing to C9. They will come down believe me.

C9 uses a generation newer chip, a9.
It is usually £250 extra, is it worth it?
Plenty people pay more for a new chip in their phone

Q80 isn't even close. Q85 would be a closer comparison. The Q85 has double the dimming zones of the 80.

As to which would be better for you, depends on your room and the sources you'll be watching.
Do you have external sound? In built speakers are rubbish. I think Samsung are still doing the offer of £400 back if you buy a Q85 TV and Q60 sound bar, effectively making the sound bar free.
Do they both have same HDMI connections?

Lg 2019 oleds including C9 has hdmi 2.1 ports
Samsung everything is hdmi 2.0b except their 8k only hdmi 4 q900r q950r is claimed to be hdmi 2.1
Great price. I have it and coming from a top of the range Samsung HD LED from 2014, it’s excellent. The blacks are so friggen deep.

It does need some config out of the box, because I couldn’t stand the horrible artificial soap effect. Put it in cinema for HDR or advanced dark room for non-hdr and change the white warmness to warm 1 instead of 2, and it becomes like a reference screen.

80 zones? OLED has 8.2m local dimming zones, (each individual pixel.) Not even close.

In all seriousness, with Mini LED just around the corner, I wouldn't buy FALD unless I needed a TV for gaming right now.

Wrong on the q85, I believe the UK market version doesnt have twice as many dimming zones I think we get shafted compared to every where else.
Went for this last week over a Q85 which I had intended to buy, both have advantages over each other depending on your usage.
The C9 can get a little brighter, has a little better picture processing and has slightly better up scaling than the B9, not enough imo warrant that the usual £200 odd price difference. Although they use the same panel throughout the lg range there are rumours of panel grading between the sets.
Would u buy a used c9 55" for £980 with 5yr warranty??? John Lewis have them. They also have a 65" q90 for £1400. Also 65" AG8 for £1500. All used with 5yr warranty.

This is 65 inch OLED not 55, how can you compare? Qled isn’t as good go and see for yourself in a store.
OLED is way better than Samsung. Anyone who paid this money for a q90 you’re not even in the same ball park as OLED. 30 dimming zones don’t compare to 8million on OLED.

Hi. Are these in-store deals only? The AG8 is tempting but do John Lewis provide details of the original customer return for info?

In-store deals.
Thanks. Which store was the 65AG8 in please? I've recently returned a tv to Costco as they allow up to 90days no hassle returns but I didn't realise JL offer 30days. I'll have to pay for delivery though as my car back seats don't go down so won't fit in the car.

Yes I have a purchased a atmos Samsung q70 soundbar (deal from HUKD from black Friday!!) Room size is decent. Mainly sky hd, Netflix uhd, but because of the setup will invest in uhd sky or something similar.

Think the LG ticks the boxes. Earc definitely helps as the q70 soundbar only has 1 x hdmi input.

Also the tv will be flat on the wall so will need a tv with wide viewing capability which I think LG B8 comes out on top v the q80 or even the q85
E8 or B9 if the price and warranty are the same?

If it's just for TV then E8 has a brighter panel and better speakers + looks nicer. You might miss out on some of the updated apps, but in a year or two you'll probably be looking at a firestick/roku etc anyways. The only real swing point for the B9 is the HDMI 2.1 and lower latency which is primarily a concern for gamers, and probably competitive games at that as the input lag in the E8 is still pretty good.

edit: if it's a Currys ex-display model though then I would always buy new with OLED.

Am I being thick or what’s the code for the additional £100 off?

so I was told identical TVs in terms of PQ. The only difference is q85 comes with the qbox and the q80 doesn't.
