They have just agreed price match for me.
I’m gonna sit on it. I move house in January and wanted it new when I move in. Don’t wanna miss out on a good price though.

That's the dilemma for a few people not in a mad rush - Black Friday or Xmas sales. I'm sure I saw a graph somewhere where a chap plotted the prices on last year's LG prices for 55" models and the Xmas prices were best. I'm also wondering if they are going to slash 65" models a little heavier this year to encourage sales of bigger tv's.

Based on that fact, that makes this deal quite good, especially if you can get a price match from John Lewis for the six month guarantee? I've also heard John Lewis are offering interest free payments for 18 months on tvs up until mid November

Yeah I think it may well be the lowest it goes over the holiday period. I just didn't want to have to set up the TV then move it again in January. I could buy it next week using my JL price match and then I would be within 28 days for BF in case there are further reductions.

So buy now or chance it until January!?

No worries mate - good to hear. I think my parents are going to go with this deal from John Lewis aswell
Any one going for JL price match try hold off actually ordering until mid next week so you are covered for Black Friday and Cyber Monday under the 28 day price promise.
Was really considering getting an oled tv but after lots of researching online and seeing many horror stories of screen burn I’m going to leave it a few years. The technology is still new in tv’s and I don’t want to be risking a lot of money to quite possibly have a screen burnt tv a couple years down the line which isn’t covered by warranty. Looking at QLEDs now

Ye I know I’m probably being over paranoid but i just can’t bring myself to spend all that money and have the worry at the back of my head. My daughter watches a lot of nick jr and we have news on etc so I think it could be a recipe for disaster with the still images on the channels. Very surprised screen burn isn’t covered under warranty. Just makes me think the manufactures don’t have 100% confidence in the screens either

Always been a cast iron warranty on electricals in the past. Although they are getting massive criticism at the moment after allegedly outsourcing their service dept. The Trustpilot scores took a nosedive . Someone please correct me if I'm talking rubbish.
Is it so much better than the C8 speaker wise ?

sounds like someone is trying to justify their purchase. Only screen I've ever noticed burn in on (well permanent image retention) was an lcd on a laptop, oled is not unique to this problem and most people don't sit with static images for 20 hours a day anyway. Would love this set but still too expensive.

I don't know the difference in speaker quality between this year's and last year's "c" models. I suspect they would be similar? I think with any flat screen it is wise to buy a separate soundbar / av system.

I think people have already been successful with price match mate with this online retailer. I also managed to screen grab this from their t and c's aswell which suggests the same

Could get it for £2299 on Black Friday at currys last year
Oled means paranoia about what you're watching reducing enjoyment even if the burn in doesn't happen. Plus the screen, though gorgeous, is like a mirror.
No 5yr warranty on this unless pay £200 and extra for delivery. That line about 7 day refund is misleading to consumer rights as you have 14 days to return for refund anyway.
Showroom in Worcester - just Google it

Yes,this site said the same about the which is sitting in my lounge waiting to be picked up by Richer Sounds. It's like a mirror - unwatchable during the day.
See my image here - sat 30 foot away from the windows...Everything above the middle of the screen you can see - the windows, skylights...that is a reflection and not the image. Rtings are having a laugh! Amazing TV in the dark.35797487-uGicf.jpg
