I bought this TV from RS a few weeks ago, same advertised price but with a £75 discount code added so £1724 total. Got 18 months interest free credit as well. Great TV!

I posted the deal for this yesterday for the same price and it was removed by admin saying that it was not the cheapest around

Don't suppose they said where it was cheaper? Looking to purchase in the next week or so..
They are beautiful TV’s so glad I got one in the recent sale, I managed to stack Richer sounds codes to get a great discount on TV, amp & speakers (not a fan of sound bars) but whatever you can get it for it’s def the best I could find after 6 months searching , I went for the B8 as the difference is minimal IMHO but if I had the spare cash I’d probably be tempted..
Novice question: do you need antenna for this tv to watch free view? If yes, will an internal antenna do?
As usual anyone looking to buy this TV may be interested in a LOAD of videos i have made about my 65 inch LG B8 OLED which is pretty much the same TV so most of my video will still apply to this TV.

Videos include -

the unboxing, set up and wall mounting of the 65 inch OLED
The unboxing, set up and wall mounting of the 55 inch OLED
My picture settings
gaming demos
best things about the LG OLED
worst things about the LG OLED
Standard Definition demo
AND LOADS MORE.

Also i am running a test each month on the TV to see if it is suffering from any burn in,currently on month 6

Lots of members have found them useful in helping them make a decision on buying an OLED so anyone interested feel free to PM me.
Thanks Paul. I’ve looked at the reviews of the B8 & C8 and the differences are minimal. The C8 has faster processing chip, 25% brighter and a couple of other things spring to mind. Maybe it is worth the extra £200, maybe not much more though.
Can't warranty spending so much money on a TV
I have this. And recently, when switching off at the plug, and back on again (like I've always done with all appliances), the standby light flashes every 10 seconds or so for about 5 minutes before it'll let me turn it back on. Anyone had the same issue or any ideas?

Since when is that policy? Should not be a factor when approving deals in my opinion.

Exactly...

It was cheaper with rlrdistribution.
It’s now too far along in the year for me to buy a C8. I don’t desperately need a new TV (need and want are two different things), so will wait until the C9 hits a price point I’m happy with. The C9 is beneficial over the C8 due to HDMI 2.1 and Airplay support.

That’s not comparable due to the value RS or JL have with their warranty. I’m guessing admin shut yours down because the poster of the other deal reported it and wanted the heat.

I agree. It is not comparable and that's why I was a bit miffed when admin removed my deal saying that its cheaper at RLR. Also no one had posted any other deal.

Ah well... May be admin was having a bad day at home or something.

Hi Paul, do you have a link to the videos? I got the 65 B8 SLC from JL a couple of months back and I'd love to compare the settings to yours, I mainly use expert dark mode, thanks
Lippo99915/08/2019 13:54

Huh?

Someone posted a deal, it got shut down because there was a cheaper but not comparable one (not this deal). The poster of the original deal is puzzled as to why this deal was allowed, as it’s more expensive than the cheaper deal that shut his post down. Wasn’t implying you shut the deal down.

The price went back up. I have just contacted them and they have honoured the £1799 but I couldn't get the interest free credit unfortunately.

Seen many videos on the B8, but wouldn't mind seeing yours too if you can send links?

Why do you turn it off at the mains? Most devices take a while to boot so sounds normal to me...

Always have, shouldn't leave stuff on standby. And I've had the tv since November and it only started doing it last week so definitely not normal..

I would recommend always leaving this on at the wall, by turning it off you are stopping the internal software running a clean cycle, this is designed to prevent/delay burn in.

This ^^^

Once the TV has been turned off after 4 hours of use the TV will automatically run a pixel refresh which takes 10-20 minutes but needs to be connected to the mains and be in standby for it to do this.
