”LG’s 2019 OLED defies expectations.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ 2019 award-winner.

See the OLED difference for yourself
With advanced Pixel Level Dimming, OLED remains one of the best options for class-leading picture quality. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Powerful new processor at its heart
With the a9 Gen 2 processor at its heart, this 65 inch LG TV is not only faster at processing but brings about a whole host of new features. Intelligent Artificial Intelligence (AI) benefits both picture and sound for the clearest images and audio yet. Combined with HDMI2.1 sockets, the powerful processor also supports exciting new picture technologies, such as High Frame Rate and Dynamic HDR.

HDMI 2.1 connectivity for wider support
Featuring HDMI 2.1 sockets gives this LG greatly enhanced connectivity. HDMI 2.1 supports Dynamic HDR. This lets the TV adjust the picture frame-by-frame for active control of the contrast. For gaming and VR headset use, Variable Refresh Rate and Quick Frame Transport aim to reduce lag and provide a smoother and more responsive feel. HDMI 2.1 also supports eARC – an upgraded Audio Return Channel that supports DTS:X and Dolby Atmos from TV to audio system.

AI Picture
Artificial Intelligence comes of age with LG’s Deep Learning AI Picture. This clever system compares the signal with a table of content and automatically adjusts the picture quality to the most accurate image possible. Using an ambient light sensor, the system adjusts screen brightness and other criteria (with HDR signals). The result is greater realism with a cleaner and sharper picture.

AI Sound
If you fancy a more cinematic sound from your TV, then LG’s AI Sound should be music to your ears. Using AI algorithms, AI Sound up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 5.1 sound – giving a much more immersive sound stage. The powerful a9 Gen 2 processor also optimises the sound based on content type – giving clearer vocals with news and dramas. The powerful AI can also take account of your room’s acoustics and layout and adjusts to give the cleanest sound possible.

Dolby Atmos compatible sound
With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in this LG OLED 65” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for an even more immersive sound. With its built-in 2.2 speaker set-up and a 40 watt amp, the OLED65C9PLA delivers a smooth, well-balanced sound.

Upgrade to wireless surround sound with WiSA*
WiSA stands for Wireless Speaker & Audio. The system wirelessly streams sound up to 24bit 96kHz, 8-channels and includes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. WiSA is flexible as you decide which speakers you want and where you want them – they don’t even have to be from LG. Simply look for WiSA supported speakers and decide how you’d like your audio to sound. *Separate dongle purchase required.

Now featuring Apple AirPlay 2 and Apple TV app
With support for Apple AirPlay 2, this LG 65 inch TV lets you effortlessly stream from your Apple device. Even better, support for Apple’s TV app means you can enjoy Apple’s 4K HDR content – featuring top quality Dolby Atmos and Vision. Support for Apple’s HomeKit makes this LG highly compatible with the whole Apple system.

Smart voice control – ThinQ AI integrates with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa*
Voice control has got much smarter with this LG TV. Press the dedicated voice mic button and ThinQ AI decides if the TV’s software or Google Assistant handles the command. Google Assistant is capable of changing the channel and input via voice command. It also integrates with services such as Google Photos and Google Maps to make your TV an even greater source of entertainment. As an alternative, direct voice control via Amazon Alexa is also set to be an option from mid/late 2019. *Alexa built-in upgrade due later in the year.

Means quite a lot to me. Couldnt pay 1900 for C9 when E9 is only 100 more. Shame they cheaped out on the remote though.

better sound and picture on glass to name two. The E7 used to have a much nicer remote than C7 but they seem to have done away with that on the E9/C9 mores the pity
Just got mortgage accepted for my new house and all I can think about is getting a 65 inch OLED!! This is tempting but should I wait for the new range and see how much this drops....

Online membership is only £15.
As above costco is 1799.99, so for £15 membership, richer sounds will price beat by £20 so overall cost is £1795.99 from richer sounds.

They follow same pattern every year .it's not in LG interest to start discounting to retailers at too low a price .
I went for b9 65 at 1499 via deal last week at Costco as you have a 90 day return for member.
Last year's b8 ended roughly same and same with b7 .Yes you might drop in a one off fantastic deal if you just want to play the waiting game but if you definitely want one now 1499 is about as cheap as it will get historically speaking
I matched to costco, £1779 total. Let's hope it's worth it compared to the B9.

Now need to buy a bunch of 2.1 hdmi cables.

Only need 2.1 when you have a source for it. First sources are due to be next gen xbox and ps5, so far only 1 avr is hdmi 2.1 and that's yamaha. Here's hoping they all jump on board this year.

Good point but TV is going on the wall, with cabling trunked into the wall and then wallpapered over. So it's got to be right first time.

Any suggestions on cable from Amazon??

Not really but keep the cable as short as possible. I don't think there are any cables over 3m which is hdmi 2.1 certified.

My TV is wall mounted but I can still feed my cable up and down the wall.

Thanks for that. Don't think I want to pay £70 for one cable, will need to buy several.

Amazon have alternatives for £15- 20 3meters.

If the rumours are to be believed its certainly possible to see something to buy in September, although manufacturing is affected across the board due to cornovirus precautions at the moment.

Amazon basics. No need to pay more. If you want better build quality look for a ‘Premium certified’ one. The build quality of these is tested.

There is technically no such thing as an ‘HDMI 2.1 cable‘, despite how sellers market them. Cables are not rated in this way. If you’re desperate to future proof then you’re looking for an ‘Ultra High Speed Certified’ cable but none exist yet, only non certified ones.

Well I went for this one in the end. Quality looks good.
