I just used it as many consumers would. I do game at least 2 hours a day and it's bad. It has put me off for the moment.I was thinking about something different in the near future...

I have LG 55EF950V bought in 2015. I think it was first 4k OLED with HDR10. All these years I watch Netflix, 4k or 3d blurays using xbox one s and play PC games in 4k. TV at the moment looks like brand new. I don't understand all moaning about screen burn. Same I heard about LCD's dead pixels years ago but never seen it in my life. Also decades ago people was complaining about plasma. Whatever technology we buy there is always small percentage of faulty units. PEOPLE if you are looking for premium TV it should be OLED. It's the best technology to date and forget about old LCD. I remember when I bought 8 years ago my Samsung galaxy S2 with AMOLED screen and all iphone users were telling me that colours would fade away after a few years. I used this mobile for 2 years and gave it to my mum. She uses this phone every single day and I haven't noticed any problems with faded colours or burnt pixels till now. (Same with S4 I gave to mother in law, S7 edge I sold to my mate and my nearly 2 years old S9+). My conclusion: organic screens are reliable.

Or alternatively take a little bit of care to vary content watched and leave safety features turned on so it can help in standby mode. Most people don't have an issue with screenburn but static high contrast images are usually the culprit alongside poor settings. There's loads of settings online as a general guide.

It doesn't and screen burn is avoidable with care
Good deal, just waiting on the B or C to drop
Any idea if/when the c9 65 will be available? The price for that has gone up a silly amount

Yeh seen it in Lewis’ today 2499
Screen burn can be deliberately forced on the screen so no warranty will cover it, your friend should have minimised the time where a static image is on the screen

It’s basically the same tv but the e9 has much better sound from what I understand
Is there much difference between this and the E8 model

No warranty covers screen burn for an OLED.
Had my OLED for 18 months and its used for hours on end. Screen is fine no burn in whatsoever.

HDMI 2.2 is the main difference

Yes sound comes from a line of speakers along the bottom of the TV, the C9 are downward fired

So would you not recommend for gaming?
Really good deal for 65 with better speakers

More risk with huds etc, depends how long your gaming session lasts and if its always the same game, best bet to have a look on the av forums pages
If you already have a sound system, get the c9 over this.
My next TV will be oled they should fix or improve the faults by then in about a decade.

Gone back to the original price, noticed that too. Cheeky move, makes those not watching the price feel they have got a better bargain when it's reduced again.

On settings menu on TV surprisingly enough.

I have the 65 C9 brilliant TV best on Netflix the difference is the sound is better on the E9 but sound on the C9 is good also, I used a playbar by sonos and the other difference is the E9 has a glass on glass look to the screen, so makes it look like the screen goes all the way to the bottom and that's it.. same picture as the C9.. I got the C9 for £1699

And you get 18 months of free Skyq I have mine installed now, and that works out over £700

I have the E9 55 and main practical differences for me at this time are that the sound is much better than C9 and it looks nicer to me than the C9. More expensive, but I got a cracking deal for it from RS on Black Friday. There are a few other differences, but none that I have noticed or affect me.
Thanks
Screenburn on modern oleds occurs a lot less, then with the old CRT tvs.

Did your old tube teles had burn in? No! well your new oled won't either.

A lot of this burn in scare is from people trying to sell less able tvs (qled, led or lcd sets)

Which would make the E9 better than the C9. Honest mistake, I know!
When’s this offer end?
