Funnily enough I just bought a Philips HTL5160/b this morning to replace it. ARC wasn’t reliable on my Philips tv

I have the SJ6 and arc is also unreliable (fails around 1 in 15 times I turn on the tv),but with with a Sony TV. Otherwise impressive soundbar (the SJ6 that is, can’t comment on this as it’s about half the power output).

ARC, or Audio Return Channel, is an HDMI feature, built into many TVs, receivers, and sound bars. ... Audio Return Channel, or ARC, uses a single HDMI connection to send audio from a TV to the sound bar or AV receiver. In theory, this could simplify your setup, and reduce the number of cables you need

With arc it should
Anyone know if this soundbar is wall mountable?
My TV is on the wall and I'd like to build a plate that hold the sound bar directly under the TV

There's also a Panasonic one for £80 which blows this one out of the park

Guessing you mean this deal - hotukdeals.com/dea…517
I got it and it has been excellent. Works with ARC and also with the firestick remote and hasn't had any issues with it yet.

I have the model before this (the 2.1 channel one) and while its fantastic for the price i paid - it also had ARC issues - the fault is with the LG tv though! it only happens on that TV - no audio feed sometimes - need to keep switching source/app to trigger the sound to send to the soundbar.
the other issue with my older phillips bar is the subwoofer loses connection an awful lot. I hope philips fixed this as would be tempted to replace it with another one of theirs if the price is right.
*to beat the ARC sound issue tried using optical instead - but for some reason this kept turning the PS4 on and constantly switch to the ps4 input on the tv too...

Yeah that's the one I bought one last week. Bargain when you consider it's twice the price new
Very, very Bad soundbar with a nice logo . I had sent back my 2 days later after many many try to like it. Flat sound and subwoofer are very quiet. I just do not understand why even this was made for? I have Creative and Logitech speakers much cheaper and much better.
forgot to say i thought this was very poor when i tried it in store, nothing special to the sound, flat and dissapointing. a lot of the lower end LG bars just werent very good a few years ago. have not tried any recently.

make sure to check reviews!

I’ve never had a problem with my previous cheap £50 Philips. Which also included ARC! The HTL5160/b I just bought is fantastic

You ever have sub issues? I'm looking to 'upgrade' the sound bar and move this one upstairs, the treble is lacking unless it's on a wide flat surface. I've had 3 issues with this sound bar but the sound quality when it works is worth it...

Only had it a couple days, bought it second hand for £70, but no issues so far. Only issue I’m having is not able to connect it to WiFi, but that was listed in the listing. Not bothered as I have Ethernet ports available

I took mine back to Curry's, who said they've had lots of returns of this model. That was a few years ago now, though. Given that they are still being sold, they can't all be so bad!

amazing bargain given how good these old philips sound!
Does this have separate wireless/Bluetooth rear speakers available to turn it into 5.1 ?
Still waiting for them to make these speakers of the size they are.

Over 1 meter of plastic tube to house 2 speakers that would fit inside a kinder egg.

Then people moan about plastic waste on wrapping brocolli and cucumbers
I have this model and overall I'm impressed. The subwoofer can't be too far from the soundbar though. I had it around 3m away and it kept cutting out. There's an led on the back so you can see when it's got a connection.

that's not far at all. I would like to have put this sub behind the sofa
was looking at this as an upgrade on my panasonic soundplate thats about 6 years old but noticed the sound bars speakers are only 60 watt where my old panasonic is 120

Doesn't seem to have been an ebay 10% or 15% off deal for a while.

Bought one when it was on Amazon for £79, works straight out of the box, it's good but if you like more power then go with the 300w from curry/pc world for £119.. the remote control cheap looking, you can't see the volume bar on your TV.. however if you have a smart Samsung TV with Bluetooth remote, you will need to use the IR sensor extension to control the sound bar volume. But if you have a normal Samsung then it should work with the std TV remote control.

Just copy and paste it into eBay

I did and cheapest was about 150
