Still think its to much at this price for a "atmos" soundbar with sound originating from 1 area of the room so your not getting the real 5.1.2 sound. Probz wait to reduce a lot more or get a AVR for a real setup

I’ve also just checked Richer Sounds and they have it for £674.10

Plus only 1 hdmi port iirc, which is odd at this price. I bought the sj9, returned unopened and bought the Yamaha 2700

Exactly, all the processing, none of the experience. Just like cheap, and not so cheap, 4k TVs, lots of pixels, no picture quality.

How does the Yamaha perform?
Got the Sj8, it's phenomenal. The wireless sub woofer behind the couch is super bassy and rumbley, love it

I had the old ysp600 before this and it was great. The 2700 is very immersive but I’ve not done any tuning beyond the intellimic setup, so have no doubt it could be improved with tinkering. It obviously can’t completely replicate a full 7.1 setup but it gets pretty close and without the faff and hardware of a full setup, which is a pretty big plus for me. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking to improve on a standard tv speaker setup.
I am in the market for a new soundbar and read good reviews regarding the SJ9. Yes it has lack of extra hdmi ports etc & the cost was one of the reasons for not pulling the trigger! I may look at the YSP2700 is it a 7.1 setup then?

I’ve got the ysp1600. I feel quite let down unless I’m not setting it up correctly. I’m adding a subwoofer tomorrow and if it still sounds naff it’s going.
Thanks
I was thinking of buying the Bose Soundtouch 300. Does anyone know how this compares?
Unless space or looks are a major issue you are far better to go for an amplifier and separate speakers, can be a lot cheaper and if any bit goes wrong you can just replace that part.

I have a AV Receiver and separate speakers, I'm just sick of speakers and stands, around the room.

I had the 1600 too and wasn't impressed, it sounded quite flat and the channels didn't feel separated, plus the lack of a meaningful display on the front was frustrating. I have the Samsung HW-MS650 now and it's much, much better.
As yet without testing the Sonos or Bose 300 ok if you got a thousand or so pound for a full set up. The only ups are its all wireless but do not expect the same dimensional depth of a AV receiver with a 5.1.2 set up or 7.1 set up. Tbh unless you can be bothered to wait for films that are atmos enabled and 4k it's like waiting for a roast dinner you had on a Thursday that was due to of been had on the Sunday. There is barely little content of the films in atmos and you may as well by a 9/11.2 AV and have everything in Multi channel that's the best experience of sound imoo
Thanks OP, had my eye out for this to go with my new telly, expensive month!
Site said the code expired at midnight, so just in the nick of time! Many thanks!
I am pretty ignorant of soundbars so not going to vote, however I too am in the market and I think i will be going for the philips Fidelio B5 which is around £500 at richer sounds. It has proper wireless 5:1 surround sound when you want it, and is a normal virtual surround sound bar when you dont.

it has 2 hdmi in as well
really? balls! it got really good reviews and reccomendations
Tempted by the SJ9 as I have a LG tv but seem to be some good reviews for the Yamaha 2700. May just wait for the atmos bars to drop in price
Any recommendations
I was tempted to go for the SJ9 but I’ve gone for the YSP2700 I’m very pleased with it
How's the sound ?
And I think you can add rear speakers if it needs them. It's not atmos though is it ? Some of the prices look ok

You won’t be disappointed 🏻
My father was so impressed with mine he has ordered the same one
A few places have got it for £569 at the momemt. My tv is in a corner so not sure how effective it will be. Have you added more speakers or just the bar and sub? I would be connecting to sky Q and Netflix

I’ve just got the bar & sub at the moment! There is a setup with the intelibeam for a corner setup so you get the most out of bar
