Great reviews and wireless rear speakers.

Been looking at this as well, has anyone got this? Want to know what the sound is like and I know it is 4.1 but is the sound as if it's 5.1 with the rear speakers?

Been reading loads of reviews and they are just about all good. My current Sony has rear wireless speakers so wanted one with that.
I'm tempted too. Bought an LG 65c8. Got an existing 2.1 LG soundbar which is OK but fancy a bit more power and reviews are good.

480watt this one I think.
Thanks, ordered, been watching this for a couple of months now and finally bit the bullet at this price
Use top cash back and that would bring the price down to just over £220.
Great price, voted hot. Better go to sleep before making another unwise decision:) (according to my wife)
Is the sub wireless or wired?

Do you have to use the 2 rear speaker's? Really want to pull the trigger on this but don't want the rear speakers all the time in my open plan living room.

Get the sk5 option. No rear speakers. But personally from what I've read the rear speakers make all the difference. And theyre wireless so u put them up against a rear wall. How open plan is it? No walls? Or only sometimes? Confused by your point?

U have no wires running from whatever side of your room you class as the rear and the front. Most rooms will have at least 2 sets of plug sockets diagonally opposed so you can power the wireless hub that connects the rear speakers whichever wall is the rear. In most cases the hub to speaker wiring will be hidden behind ya sofa or could be run under a carpet etc. I'd say that's the bonus with this option.

You don't have wires from the tv to the back of the room and this is quite a good benefit. Easier to hide 2m of cables or less at the back of the room.

Without these there is no point to buy it. You can get cheaper soundbar if you don't want the speakers, no point to waste your money if not needed.

I've used Ebuyer numerous times and apart from one negative experience, they were fine. The negative experience was that if I buy a laptop within certain dates, I will get £50 back. I've got it a day before the deadline, but they delivered 2 days later. When I claimed £50, they rejected the claim on the basis the laptop was delivered after the deadline. It was a right performance to get this back, had to put complaints, they were passing the responsibility to Acer, etc. By luck, Acer extended the buying period and I qualified.

The HDMI is the older 1.4 standard. So it won’t support 4K at 50/60fps nor 10-bit colour(HDR) via pass through.

A good deal, but the old HDMI with no 4k pass-through is a killer unfortunately.

Can't find anything within this price range with wireless speakers and 4k passthrough

It plays whatever sound your tv puts through it. What a load of rubbish stop scaring people off buying it. You link this direct to your tv. I have a 8 year old Sony same usb and it plays anything through it perfectly.
The rear speakers are they wired in any way?
Im assuming at least they each need a power socket? Or is it wireless to the sound bar but wired to the hub for power and is the sub the hub? Ty
For Panasonic 4K TV owners this may be a problem . Plug this into the TVs HDMI # 2 port, and for example a Sky HD box into HDMI #1 and you will be golden. However if you then buy a UHD player, or a XBox OneX etc, the other 2 ports on the TV will only support 24p 4K and no HDR and *neither* will the SK5’s passthrough. If you can live with that an excellent piece of kit

I'm confused. I currently have an old optical sound bar (no hdmi) connected to my new LG 65C8 and it plays HDR 4k and dolby vision no problem.

I was wondering. If my 5 year old sound bar does it why wouldn't this.

Rear speakers connected to a hub that u plug in. One power source. This hub provides the wireless connection. The 2 rear speakers are connected to this hub. That's how I believe it is anyway. Think I'm going to order. Was hoping amazon would reduce their 250 price but doesn't look like it.

Apologies. Less haste etc. Quidco is not 7%. Done a quick search on my phone app. The 7% is for refurb items. Doesn't appear to be any cb on quidco for this category. Stick with Tcb. But they're only giving the 4% on gifts and gadgets. It's 1.5% on everything else. Ide say this would come under gifts and gadgets.

The issue *only* arises when you try to play 60/50p Or HDR with a device you have plugged into this Soundbar’s HDMI passthrough.

Plug the sound bar direct to tv only and you will have no issues.
Still can't decide.

Ok, so here are few bits to discuss.

HDMI has the bandwidth to carry lossless surround sound signals, while optical doesn't have the bandwidth to carry basically more than a stereo signal at high bitrates. This means that with TV shows and movies that are encoded for surround sound, you'll only get compressed, lossy audio over an optical cable, while HDMI can carry fully lossless DTS-HD MA, Dolby TrueHD, Atmos, and DTS-X signals.

Now as I mentioned this system is absolute value for money and I assume you have optical cable connected to directly to your 8 year old TV and your getting a decent sound.

Question is for those, like me, who have a 4k TV with HDMI ARC that want to get 4k passthrough and only use HDMI Arc as then the soundbar and TV are controlled only by one controller to control sound and switch off.

But as this soundbar only has hdmi 1.4 it will pass 4k content as somebody mentioned, that's true, but the content will be downgraded to 30hz and 8 bit color, so if you have a TV with fast hz refresh rate like 60 or 100 then you will lose the quality, which I don't want after spending alot on new TV.

So in conclusion, good soundbar and I almost bought it but after research, personally I think it is not future proof if you are looking to use most of its features in the best sound quality available in modern 4k uhd tvs with high hz refresh rates.

Maybe somebody can prove me wrong.
