Well in total it has costs be £519 for the SN9YG including the SPK8 rears. I have also paid £40 for some Sanus stands for the rears from Richer Sounds which were delivered today. I am just waiting for the SN9YG to be delivered tomorrow.

The Sn7CY has a lot more reviews however all seem to agree that it is lacking in bass. The SN7Y should therefore be much better with the dedicated soundbar. I have only heard the SN7CY in John Lewis and i can agree it sounded tinny on its own. I haven't heard the SN7Y as no Currys stores I have been to had it on display. You can add the SPK8 rear speakers to this for a 5.1.2 set up for around £400 in total which is pretty good. Yes the Samsung deal with cashback was better but this isn't available anymore and your looking at around £600-£700 for their equivalent Q700 including the rears.

The bass with this subwoofer is very good, been very impressed with it.

I recently got the SpK8 rears and the SN9YG on a crazy deal but I am waiting for the Sn9YG to be delivered tomorrow. I will report back on the rears ASAP.

Well if you are in the Market for a 55 Inch OLED the LG C1 at Richer Sounds for £899 is a fantastic price and they are doing the SN9YG for £399 if purchased with the TV. The soundbar is really good quality and the a relatively modest outlay the rears really add to the soundbar. Far more than I was expecting. I go the cinema regularly and have done for years and this is the closest I have every got to the real cinema experience. Yes dedicated atmos speakers Inn the ceiling but after I calibrated the soundbar with the app, the upfiring speakers do add to the experience. My ceiling is flat and standard height and I can tell a different with height effect for dolby atmos. Most atmos is 5.1 or 7.1 on releases so now I have a 7.1.2 set up it does seem to manage all content I have thrown at it very well. It sounds OK with music but with movies WOW. For a home theatre experience I would definitely recommend these.

Out of interest. Can you buy the sub for the Sn7cy? Is the bar itself the same as this?

Thanks for sharing, that’s a crazy good deal, considering it’s showing as £800 on RS for the soundbar+sub alone. Would you mind sharing how did you get the price match please?
I’m also after a similar setup and bummed out that I couldn’t spot the Samsung cashback offers earlier.

Well I wasn't allow by the other half to get a decent set up until after the Samsung cashback ended. I was searching for the SP8YA initially as Electronic Empire are selling it for £440 but saw a link to Marks Electrical for the SN9YG which although a 2020 model compared to the SP8YA had a 5.1.2 set up and built in Google Assistant with better build etc for £440 (possible price error) so I called RS and they price beat at £430 then I got the SPK8 rears for £89 from Amazon. Marks Electrical then put the SN9YG up in price to £789 yesterday. The SP8YA still seems to be available for the £440 though which seems a good price for a 2021 3.1.2 set up.

Well with the SN9YG and the SPK8 rears it will expand the total set up to 7.1.2. So I have high expectations. It will be linked to a 65 Panasonic JZ980 I got recently which has excellent picture quality but the speakers are poor.
