Seems like a superb deal for a brand new unlocked dual core smart phone. With the Galaxy S2 and the upcoming HTC Sensation priced at around £500 this has to be a consideration.

Cheapest I could find it anywhere, cheers.

The Galaxy S2 is available for £400, and the Sensation will likely follow suit. I would much rather pay an extra £20 to get those.

Plus, £379.99 is a pretty average price for this handset.

Cold.

The Sensation is pre ordering for £499 and the S2 is not available SIM free for £400. If it is show me where and I will order one now!

Also is this not the cheapest price for this phone and is that not the point of this site?

Too many Samsung fanboys (Chavs) voting this cold.. lol

The Galaxy S2 is available locked on O2 for £400. It only costs about £15 to get it unlocked.
The Sensation will be the same.

Well that depends whether you regard the purpose of the site to be finding the cheapest price available... or finding a "hot uk deal"? I don't see why I should vote hot because play.com have knocked £10 of the normal price? The fact that it is now cheaper does not necessarily make it a better deal.

I am fed up with people trying to control how I vote! Ahhhhhhh

PS. Whoever said something about "samsung fanboys (chavs) voting this cold" - grow up! Not only are there not really samsung fanboys anyway, nor are they chavs, it is widely accepted by all the review sites that the Galaxy S2 is better than this. As the person above said, a nice looking phone with great hardware, let down by crappy software.

PS 2. I hate Samsung. I am not a fanboy at all. But the Galaxy S2 looks cracking! Not only is the TouchWiz skin pretty much stock android now anyway, it can be rooted and you can add whatever ROM you want. Combine that with top notch hardware and you have a great phone. That cannot be said for this LG.

No one is trying to control your vote, stop being so dramatic!!!

I think people just want you to get your facts right and stop writing rubbish. Firstly the PAYG O2 deal you refer is not currently available as O2 have suspended it in preference to contract customers. The cheapest you can get the S2 Sim free is about £490. Secondly if you third party unlock it as you suggest for £15 you invalidate your warranty. I know this because I have checked.

Finally if you think the Sensation will be available sim free for £400 your seriously deluded. On that basis this makes £380 for this dual core phone good value...

I never said the Sensation would be £400 sim free. I said it would be £400 locked to O2. "I think people just want you to get your facts right". HTC's generally tend to be cheaper than Samsung's anyway. Just look at the original Galaxy S.

In my personal opinion, I would say its worth waiting for the Galaxy S2 deal to return. Please don't mislead people. You can get the phone unlocked officially by O2 for as little as £10 in some cases, which does not invalidate the warranty. You do not need to go to some third party website.

I stand by what I said. I agree it is an alternative in the dual core market. But I don't think it's a hot deal.
1. £380 for a phone is ridiculous.
2. It is only a fraction cheaper than the price elsewhere.
3. I personally believe (assuming you don't mind me voting this way?) there are better dual core phones and deals on these than this. I think you get a much better deal if you buy the Galaxy S2.

Finally, do not structure your arguments as "I think people just want you to...". Have you consulted anyone else? No. Are the majority of comments in this deal praising the phone? No. Has the deal been voted hot by the HUKD community? A resounding, negative, NO!
So how can you say "I think everyone"?

Er that is the point of this site?! If this is the cheapest deal for this phone then its a good deal if your looking for this phone. If people are voting based on what they like and dont like then the voting system is broken. I for one will not be posting another deal because people can vote cold on a whim without posting a better price.

If you dont think this the best price then post a better one or perhaps you should not vote at all. Youve made your reasons for not wanting this handset and the ones YOU'd rather have but if youve voted cold based on this opinion I think thats the wrong way to use this site.

Again do not misquote me. At no point did I say I voted based on whether I like the product. I said I voted based on my judgement if it was a "hot deal" i.e. how good a price this is for the phone in question (not very), and factoring in how that compares to deals for the alternatives. If there is a better phone out there for only slightly more, obviously people will be less inclined to vote highly of this deal. I think the negative heat of the deal reflects that.

Regardless of how I voted, the simple fact remains that the shedding of £10 does not represent a hot deal. It might be a better deal on the normal price yes. But that doesn't make it hot! This site is full of deals with huge savings. In my opinion, a discount of 2.5% will not make me vote it hot.

Edit: Also, I am going to be brave and question the purpose of the site. I think the purpose is to find "hot deals", as in details of huge savings and such. Surely if I wanted to simply see the cheapest price, I would use something like Google Products?

This is getting a little heated. I'm just stating what I think. We don't have to agree :P

Once again to correct your misleading statements. O2 can unlock the phone, but if you buy it on PAYG as you suggest, they will only do this after 12 months, no use to me if im not on O2!!!!

So again, if you are in the market for a dual core phone, this is currently the cheapest way to get one SIM free, unlocked. Therefore if you are in the market for a cheap dual core unlocked hand set, this is the cheapest way to get one...

Lol - Now £329.

That, is hot!
