If the Hotpoint actually manages to complete the cycle without A. Breaking or B. Catching fire.

I do agree though, The wash times do seem a little seem a little long. My Beko can do a 10KG quick wash at 60° @ 1400rpm in 58 minutes.

Most used program on my Beko is 30° Quick wash. Full load @ 1400rpm and it takes 28 minutes!

I do sometimes put it on an extra spin as it doesn't extract as much water as my previous Samsung washer did. It's also louder and retains water in the seal which is annoying and gutted that I could have got an LG for a similar price a few weeks later!

Using discount code LGTRADE1 instead gets £30 knocked off the price. Rumour has it that if you don't add recycling it takes off £50.
Would get if 12kg drum

Do you have to actually trade in an old washing machine though? To use trade in code

Bought one after Xmas. Spin cycle at tail-end is a wee bit noisy.
Far too many options for programmes - drum is nice and large, feels premium.
I also like the fact that the drum spins on a six-axis rather than the traditional belt - seems to get stains and clean deeper than my previous machine.
The NFC ability is a bit of a gimmick - you can download new cycles and stuff with an app but it only works on Android.

I think they are a little long. An average mixed load at 40 for me runs at about 220 minutes.
(Which is still long but!)
Haven’t tried the quick wash yet, but will do when I need my gym kit washing.

Only good if you don't want your old washing machine taken away isn't it? Otherwise pay extra for recycling.

Select yes for recycling and get £30 off.
Select no for recycling and get £50 off.
Alternatively selecting WASHING30 will get you £30 off, whether or not you select recycling.

Not if the company is paying handsomely for the privilege
Ordered in white for a little more (£419) with code LGtrade1. No to recycling.

Thanks for the heads-up op.
Can't afford to spend anymore on HOTD but ordered anyway for the sake of it...

I'm too naive to think like that
NFC? On a washing machine? What a time to be alive!
I have this. Brilliant washing machine can’t fault it
Energy rating ?

hukd hijacks old accounts too to make these bots look real
I love it how in the description they've trademarked 'steam', I'm sure Stephenson and Brunel would have something to say... If they were alive.
we needed a large load for our big family. A bit of research on the manufacturers and they seemed reputable.
The price doesnt really seem that good to be fair its usually always between 379 and 429 been that price for last 6 months. Good washing machine but bet it goes cheaper.
Got this one over the 9kg posted earlier. An extra £50 for an extra kilo and steam wash seems to be worth it, plus graphite fits in better with our kitchen. Can't complain with the 5 year warranty to! Cheers
Wash times are a joke 4 1/2 hrs!

Unfortunately the white is (certainly was!) More expensive. It started off at £469 and with £50 off using LGTrade1 I got £50 off.

Had to be the white I got, apparently.

If you see through the deliberately obscure model numbers; Which? score is 61-68% for the F4J6 10kg series. Don't seem to do well on program length, rinse performance or energy/water use.
Which? seem to recommend Miele and Samsung models. Samsung being the competitor at very similar price points with Which? scores in the 80%s.
Would seem the general consensus on here is poor Samsung reliability?

I need a decent washing machine capable of washing a S King duvet, but I'm undecided between LG and Samsung.

Thanks ordered for £379.
Ordered too, paid £348.68 using 8% discounted Currys egift cards
Got the white one in December for £379 and it's a really nice, 30 minute quick wash is sufficient for most loads. The comment regarding trapping water in the seal is correct, but it's a minor gtumble.

Where did you get the 8% off gift cards. Best I've found so far is 6.5%
LG is a good brand so this looks like a winner. I can only see a 2 year warranty but if its 5, even better. That is if its parts and labour. A parts only warranty is a waste of time. Call out charges and labour are going to sting you for £150-£200 or more. A 10 year parts warranties shouldn't even be considered. Youll see this on most Hotpoint appliances.

My 2.5 year old Hotpoint Larder fridge has a fault. It stays on 24/7. Its as new. Its going to cost me £150 to fix it as it only had a parts warranty after 2 years. Will have to take to the dump. Shocking. Bought a Samsung with a 5 years parts and labour warranty.

I took out a £50 per month ISA around this time last year with Scottish Friendly as Quidco were offering £180 cashback plus £20 bonus. I then discovered that if you went papererless then you gain access to their benefits website from where I bought the Currys egift cards. It's well worth keeping an eye out for a similar cashback offer this year as the additional benefits are great. I also have access to Utility Point rewards as I have my gas supply with them, similar gift cards available at a slightly lower discount from what I've seen so far but access to additional discounts like Samsung EPP
