Is this a decent washer. Bought a Candy about just over12 months ago …Is this a decent washer. Bought a Candy about just over12 months ago wasn’t expensive but it’s rubbish keeps packing up halfway through cycle. Now looking for a very good one

Candy and LG are like night and day by comparison. One of the worst brands versus one of the best. No contest.

Yeh gathered they wernt the best but expected longer before any issues …Yeh gathered they wernt the best but expected longer before any issues arise. Been looking at Bosch, AEG & hotpoint, never even thought of LG didn’t know they even did them until yesterday. Seen that Samsung also do them but not sure over them either. Defo got to spend some decent cash this time instead of the rubbish candy ones.

Stay away from Hotpoint. As bad as candy. Bosch decent. Samsung decent but the concrete tends to go in Samsung. My family have sold washing machines for over 40 years and they believe LG is the best brand they’ve ever sold

Had the machine for 2 months now. Fantastic so far, clothes come out much cleaner than my old hotpoint machine. Also this is very quiet with the direct drive motor. Would recommend to anyone looking at it.

LG by a long mile. Check out UK White goods website and look under manufacturer information.

Also on HUKD search for LG Washing Machine. Look at the heat scores and all the comments extolling the virtues.

Also this model I believe qualifies for the 5 Year warranty be redemption. That's got to be worth at least £100.

Now that is surprising as I thought Miele was supposed to be the best, certainly pricey

Just make sure you avoid Hotpoint/Indeshite/Whirlpool and Hoover/Candy. They're all crap and unreliable.

LG, Bosch, Samsung, Miele, Siemans are all usually dependable machines. If you must buy a cheap washing machine then buy a Beko.

Top marks for the LGs
So this or the John Lewis one? hotukdeals.com/dea…299 both seem similar just seems to mainly be turbo wash vs steam. And a few quid off here with the voucher code..

AEG any good you washing diva’s

We have an AEG 7000 series (I think) haven’t had it years but so far we are happy, and have had no issues with Electrolux group items over the years (touch wood).

We previously had a Hotpoint that was 10 years old and was a reliable machine but didn’t wash properly which the Aeg does.

Went for the AEG as the offered a 5 year parts and labour guarantee for free.

Also must say the difference in build quality is certainly superior even though that Hotpoint was there top of the range model at the time.

So anyway if you asked me if I would recommend AEG, yes I would but as you can see LG are highly thought of too.

My only experience of an LG was my uncles washer dryer but that’s a whole different story and let’s just say it didn’t end happily but that’s a washer dryer and they can be nightmares anyway.
Don’t be fooled by the “was” price though, looks like £369 has been the usual price for this machine.

Any decent offers for a combi dryer one? do people still buy those?!

Owned by electrolux who own zanussi and Aeg,also make John Lewis appliances, get a John Lewis brand one, they have a 3 year guarantee
These have a 5 year guarantee through LG. lg.com/uk/…nty
If honest I have no idea about washing machine, I just know we need a new one and it's going to have a be a decent spec and good quality as it's working every day these days, Always been made to believe Bosch are very good.
You get what you pay for comes to mind.

The John Lewis one has an extra 0.5kg of capacity too I believe
From a quick read on uk white good website id say no brand is any good apart from Miele which is mega bucks and parts to expensive. Samsung has been slated and LG & Bosch don't really sound that good either.
Google put the Hotpoint Ultima S-Line RPD10657DD as a good product??

As regards the John Lewis model I bought one after my (without any repairs) 18 year old Hoover died on me. The salesperson told me they are made by Zanussi, how true this is I have no idea. It was a great deal quieter than the old Hoover but I saw no difference in the wash quality. Fast forward 5 years later, and the John Lewis washing machine stands in the garage, completely done in!!!! It has had little use, there are only the two of us, no children, no pets, so just ordinary, everyday items. It was never overloaded ever and then out of the blue it stopped mid wash. A local electrician friend has looked at it with his varying electronic devices and found nothing wrong but it just doesn't go. It looks brand new and I just thought it would/should have lasted a bit longer. It has been replaced with an AEG. Just my experience of a John Lewis washer.
