Been looking for an LG ultrawide for a while, I posted a few weeks back the price drop on Amazon but this is now the first time I've seen an LG 34' ultrawide below the £300 price point. Never used the site buyur before but after a quick phone call they confirmed the price and deelievery date. Free 3-5 day delivery as well so I've finally pulled the trigger and got one

I love the idea of ultra wide monitors and will get one soon but I can't justify spending up to £130 more than my 144hz screen. Im looking forward to the day/year that these screens are in around the £200 mark

I agree for my gaming system. I have a ultrawide in the office and for productivity they are absolutely brilliant.
1080P and 34", not the combo I would pay for or recommend sorry

Yeah it is great for that but that £300 is just too much for that extra screen space. Monitors are in a strange place atm, the tech people want to see in their monitors (ultra wide, 4k, 1440, high refresh, HDR, IPS, low response, gsync) are nearly unattainable with the prices hitting £1000; and there's no excuse seeing as 4k TVs are significantly cheaper these days. Companies see the monitor market as a place to rip off enthusiasts.

You have completely lost me. The LG Ultrawide 34UM68-P in this deal is 34" monitor at 2560x1080, in my view that is far too low a resolution for a monitor of this size.

Weather its a 34" or 27" 1080p on monitor of that size has to low a PPI for some peoples liking including me.

Redit quote:

1920x1080 on a 27" screen has pretty much the same PPI (Pixel Per Inch - Pixel density) as 2560x1080 on a 34"/35".

You are correct on the technical details but for productivity needs (programming) the ppi is perfectly fine. Obviously it's not going to fit the bill for video production or gaming but you wouldn't be looking at a sub £800 ultrawide if this was your use case, you'd most likely be looking at 4k 144mhz+ monitors.
