No offence to the OP but it is that price for a reason. I’ve had two of them players and returned both 1st wouldn’t power up & the 2nd I returned last week with a poor quality Sony disc drive that’s so noisy your unable to enjoy any films

Hell of a player going by the reviews on Amazon.

I got the sarcasm cos I've read the reviews - others may not!

Same i nearly brought it but reviews are there for a reason

Not always best to trust Amazon reviews..... Lord of the Rings trilogy gets almost the same score as Fifty Shaded Darker.

Heated good price for a 4K UHD player. Still think the Xbox One S is better value overall, costing not much more and being a fully fledged console too, but it is admittedly not perfect as a 4K bluray player having a fair bit of drive noise.

I'd consider this if it got cheaper e.g. on black friday or in a Amazon warehouse deal e.g. when they do the next 20% off but can't justify £160 when I already have a Xbox One S...

Does your tv have to have dolby vision to use this?

Nope, just a a bonus if it does. There are currently only around 2 players that do Dolby Vision. This one and the OPPO which is £650.

Decisions, decisions! This bad boy or wait for a Sony 4k player on Black Friday?

I was the same. You could get it and don`t open it and if something better comes along on BF then just return it.

The LG player doesn't have Dolby Vision, the upgrade was pulled after issues. SO if you're getting this for DV, you may have to wait for them to get those issues sorted out.

If you look, you can find the Dolby Vision firmware online and apply it via USB.

Now over £200.

Not unless you install a mod chip you can't.

I had one of these from amazon warehouse. It went back, ridiculously noisy drive.

There was a build issue i think with older drives. More modern builds are supposed to be better.

Thus far no problems, I've also claimed the uhd blu ray from LG as part of the promo. Got a confirmation on this yesterday.

This works well for my needs and thus far I've been incredibly impressed when paired with my b7.
