Been looking for one of these as seems one of the best Android Wear watches.

The next cheapest UK stock I could see is £210 from Amazon so is a nice saving!

There is stock available online and in certain stores.

Good find. Hot.

So bloody tempted, already have a sony SW3.

Original Poster

I was looking at this and the Sony SW3, in the end this won out because I don't like how the SW3 looks.

oof nice, I'll have one at that price.

been wanting to switch my Gear Live since the charging cradle snapped

All guys ... I'm about to pull the trigger ... this or SW3??? Help ...

Bought! So glad I held off the SW3. This was more what I was looking for

Cheaper on ebay if you have the 10% off ... which I do. :-)

I got mine for 150 nice device but no different to other android wear device like the gwatch I had before this. I personally think it's too much even at 150 I wouldn't pay more than 100 for the core experience

Have you update it to Android 5.1 yet? Any downsides you've found?

Very nice looking watch in the metal, I have the R but got one of these during the Amazon Prime sale for £188 that my mate took off me. Was really tempted to keep it tho...

I disagree! The format is still evolving but it has come on in leaps the last 6 months not just with OS updates but apps too as they integrate with the format.

Since my Note 3 updated to Lollipop (only 5.0) I've nothing but connection prooblems with my Pebble (Steel version of the original Pebble). Connection was rock solid and long range on KitKat. Since Lollipop, constants drops and a total PITA to make the damn thing reconnect once it has dropped. F'kin annoying.

Been a bug raised since the end of last year (when Nexus users first reported problems) and it's still not fixed.

This is with Pebble though. No idea if 'Droid Wear devices have also been hit with the connectivity problems.

My lg gwatch has had the same updates and the hardware is near enough identical in terms of hardware and software so the core experience is now identical . Yes there has been improvement from the older version of Android wear but all watches now have the update including moto watch. what I am trying to say is that not much to differentiate these watches as a whole but design and some features such as GPS or wifi. If you just want the core experience you can pick up a gwatch or moto watch cheaper and it does the same job. I got my gwatch for 75 and urbane for 150 and I think for that price there is not much difference and as a value point it's not worth it

Had this for a few months now. A really great watch with a good battery life and i constantly get comments on how good it looks.

Currently 10.5% TCB too!!!!!
SO want this, but need to see what it's like in the flesh first.
Plus just build a new Skylake computer. Piggy Bank may not be too happy with me!!!!

Amazing watch works great with my iPhone (sorry guys I had to say it, will wash my finger later)
Looks amazing and lasts a whole day no problem even with full brightness which has been needed over the last few months
Changed the strap to a metal one and looks like a really expensive bit of kit
Well worth buying for both Android and iOS users
Shame you can't make and receive calls on it
Yes you can pick up calls but can't hear and/or speak into watch

Still waiting for gps on a nice looking round smart watch...

No difference between the display of the GWatch and this? No difference in quality of case?

....on non-sale items only?

I asked my local store where I reserved my SW3 and they said will not take my Tesco tokens unless I pay full price unfortunately and don't think can use online according to their terms.

I prefer the LG g watch r, I'd feel a bit of a wholly wearing this in the gym or on a run. Great price though

I mean wolly

i love my Zenwatch but this is very hot

I saw this for £50 when you buy any handset contract from EE retail stores

It's a very fair price and a good product, this launched with the watch working on wifi so that's good if leave phone behind on a run and end at a pub or coffee shop. Mind you no in built GPS. I have basically the same LG watch r but LG is being very slow (believe on purpose) to turn on its wifi capabilities as they want you to pay extra buy urbane. The r can be updated to have wifi but you need to root etc until they do an over the air update.

I want the Huawei Watch, but as it's rumoured for £300 this is tempting.

£50 is a bargain!! I'd get to one, shame my upgrade isn't due for another 2 month

Mk1 gwatch has a far poorer display, no WiFi and no heart rate monitor, The poorer less efficient display also affects battery life.

Still if you want to call core experience both a Micra and a Boxter offer a core......

In all fairness no i don't know the difference apart from poled and LCD colours and urbane is a tad brighter and size of the actual display but in most cases it terms of usage there is no difference. The reason is due to that fact you only use it to glance and read messages in that way I don't see a difference. It's not like I watch movies on it the higher ppi is not noticeable to me. In terms of build the only difference is the face on the front of the urbane as the LG watch is all glass front and urbane has a metal border around the screen. Both have metal edges and plastic back both have similar magnetic docking for charging I have metal straps on both so i don't know the difference when iam wearing apart from slight difference is weight which is negligible and size which is obviously noticeable on the wrist

I did mention GPS and wifi as a difference personally I don't use them and agian I don't use the heart rate monitor but if you need these things then buy all mean the extra cost is worth it. Personally I would never take such a good looking watch on a run for heart rate as the sweat and conditions of the gym may damage the watch if you are using it for that reason. I would compare in terms of cars that are fundamentally the same but diffrent eg polo and Fabia both are the same car internally just have diffrent design and polo has better build on the dash and internals and few extras like bluetooth but in essence it's the same car

Sounds like you're talking about the G Watch R and not the G Watch that you stated in your post.

Sorry it's was the original gwatch sorry for the confusion but my options still are the same I have had plenty of time with both watches I also had the moto watch for about a month or so and the first gen gear

What I read about the r watch is that it doesn't have wifi in terms of hardware so it won't work with wifi ever?

Edit just read some story on the net that that could be false and gwatch r may have wifi after all let's hope it does and they send a update soon

The G Watch R is IP67 rated, other than dropping a dumbell on it nothing you could do in the gym would damage it....

It does have and will get it in the next update, LG are being naughty in not activating it ota but if you root it then its easy enough to fix...

I just was thinking a more sporty type watch would be better in terms of using on the gym such as the Sony smart watch 3 (doesn't have a heart rate monitor but iam taking more abouts it's design) or gwatchr something with a silcone band the sweat may damage the leather band yes it can be swapped but I think the watch classy looks don't suit the gym but that's my opinion. If you go to the gym a lot and use these features I would recommend something else but that's my opinion. In my experience the metal caseing can get water marks when it drys which are noticeable but looks fine after a wipe down
