I've been looking at this phone for a couple of weeks now and am nearly about to bite!

I have a G4 so this would be an upgrade..

Did you get stung by customs or did it get shipped from within the U.K after coming from Hong Kong?

I'm wondering if i get a bit more protection ease of resolution if it didn't turn up or went faulty within a short period of time if i bought from them off their eBay store?

Bulk shipping from Hong Kong and individually from Manchester later... no custom charges, paid by Paypal

I bought one a while back from EGlobal, so far pretty good, though I am disappointed with battery life - not dreadful, but not good, oh and the car chargers that happily charged my Zuk Z1 when running Google Maps and Poweramp can't provide the juice that the V20 slurps when doing the same. That suggests to me some poor optimisation by LG somewhere.

As to covering yourself regarding purchase: When I bought mine, I bought from their website with a credit card. My reasoning being that though Paypal would cover me if the phone didn't arrive, or was DOA, if I bought on Ebay, they probably wouldn't give a fig if there were warranty problems down the line. I figure that in those circumstances the credit card company would be more likely to help than Paypal.

Cheers for the info.

One thing i have found out is that rule 75 isn't covered when you pay via World pay, so Paypal is most likely the better option.

Are you enjoying the V20? Is it worth it over say an LG G4? (bought that on Vodafone's pay as you go deal 20 months ago). It works fine just feel like buying a new phone

According to this buying via a retailer using Worldpay, to process your payment, shouldn't cancel your Section 75 rights but using Paypal probably will. It does seem to be an unacceptably muddy mess for consumers though.

As to the phone, well it seems pretty good, reception is good, GPS is quick, screen is nice, sound over the headphone jack is awesomely good, cameras are good - the wide-angle is surprisingly useful - though I wish it was 16mp like the main camera. All in all I can't really fault it except for the disappointing battery life, which is also seems quite variable and unpredictable. I haven't been caught out yet, but some days it's been close.

Hmm, bit of a minefield without knowing for sure as they don't make it 100% clear on whether rule 75 is covered for third party payment firms..

Anyhow, that aside cheers for the info on the phone
a lit of negative reviews for this company but they do have the Samsung S8 for £500!now do I risk it.......
Why is this cold? Because of the company or the phone? I was thinking of getting this phone.

Edit: it's the same price on 'tobysdeals'. Anyone heard of them?

No idea really why cold ...it was voted pretty hot( nearly 600 deg) when posted last time - at higher price
Did it come with the decent b&o headphones?

I'm very tempted with this phone, although the lg v30 is about to be released so hoped the price for the v20 would drop

Guys use credit card via paypal. Paypal buyer protection is simple and clear here. Even if paypal fail then use "chargeback" if they domt deliver. 100% secure. Can't speak for proper warranty

Don't think credit card protection works via PayPal?

That's rule 75. Charge back is different, as far as I can gather...

less so price, more company I'd say and claiming if something goes south with order, but price looks good...
Excellent price but couldn't live with the battery life, and carrying a second battery is just ludicrous, never understand why LG can't get their heads around this, G4, V10 and V20 have all been let down by hopeless battery life.

Have you had a V20? How much battery life did you get out of it compared to a G4?

Had the G4, fantastic phone except for the battery, wanted a V10 but all the reviews slated the battery performance. Waited for the launch of the V20 expecting they'd address the battery issue - instead the increase the screen size but only increase the battery to 3200 mah, and as expected all the reviews highlight battery life as poor.

I'd love a phone with the V20 spec but a battery that can easily last a full day, and even into the next day for the times I forget to charge it.

i ended up with the Xiaomi mi max as an experiment to see how I could cope with a big phone - the 4750 mah battery is a game changer for me, along with a screen I can easily read - camera isn't good in anything but perfect conditions, but that's the phone market at the moment, there's no single phone that does everything that I need.

Well at least it's not any worse than the G4, which isn't great but not a deal breaker.

I want a phone with a good/great camera, hence my reasoning behind considering the V20 and for the price it can't be beat?

If camera is your main priority the yep I'd agree, for the price it's unbeatable. I wouldn't like to guess whether it's better or worse than the G4 in terms of battery life - both the G4 and the V20 had the 3000 mah battery and 5.5" screen, the V20 probably needs 3500 mah to match the earlier models and something more like 4500 mah to give it the power it really needs
I've just ordered the xiaomi mi max 2 off them in black for 204 quid once you use the jbuy599 code I've had three items off them in past all came fast no customs really like the look of this phone seems like the battery life is exceptional and camera good also same as build quality

Mine came with the B&O headphones and branding. Can't really say whether they are decent or not because I don't usually listen to audio via headphones, car aux or external speakers are what I usually use, and that sounds great with the V20 They did seem to sound pretty good though for the couple of hours I listened to music on the day I got the phone though.
Regarding potential, or not, Section 75 protection: I just looked at my credit card statement from when I bought this phone, from EGlobal, and it says as the payee "EGLOBALCENTRAL.UK LONDON GB" So the retailer is named not a payment processor. I can't see, with that, how the credit card company could could wriggle out of section 75 responsibility.
I tried to order a Galaxy S8+ in Gold colour, heard nothing from EGCUK for over a week, so I cancelled it, got no response to the email cancelling it, so contacted PayPal with whom I paid the £547 for it and put the transaction into dispute.

Magically I got a response asking why I wanted to cancel it, I said because you don't answer emails and you've not dispatched it. They came back with "We're sorry it's OOS" we'll take another £20 off, I didn't want to know and so in the end they did refund the £547 back to my PP account.

Wouldn't use them again. Once bitten twice shy..
Awesome phone in very reasonable price, for those interested in a good camera/audio/removable battery...but from what I see on this and previous posts, I wouldn't trust egc, wait till someone other sell it in similar price...

about the battery concerns, on a quick search on amazon, found 6400mah/£30 and 10000mah around £60.
