Phone prices are ridiculous these days, all Apples fault.

Don't blame Apple, blame the people that pay their prices.

Was only 369 when I looked last week!
Really nice looking phone that feel great in the hand when I played with one in store. The one I played with did have an image burnt into the screen though so beware of the potential burn in issues.

was lower last month from this uk site …was lower last month from this uk site https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lg-v30-sim-free-mobilescouk-559-2832567

It was advertised lower. But it was at that price for less than a day and I think I was a black Friday misprice. The phone hadn't been out that long and to have a massive discount only a few months after launch seems a bit weird. Looking at the comments, no one actually bought one so I cannot confirm.

Shame about the screen and update policy. A good phone otherwise

In fairness, demo models show the same image for days and weeks so it is not a true representation.
I have this phone and absolutely love it. Hate what Samsung have done to the edge of their phones. Images look distorted slipping off the sides.
A great looking phone looks like iPhoneX maybe?Save £300 and get the g6 instead.

That's odd, in most expert reviews of it the screen is the one thing that seems to let it down. Do you have anything to back up your claims of a nice screen? Are you an owner? Have you tested it against other high end phones?

If someone is looking at a phone with similar features to the V30, I'd suggest the V20; it has the quad DAC, similar cameras etc and can be picked up for around £250 is you order it from Asia. I'll probably get the V30 to replace my V20 eventually, but not until it is half the price it is now...
If you like the DAC like me, I'll for for the V20 and save £400 ... £700 for a phone that will depreciate like crazy in the next 12 months just for the DAC just doesn't make sense...

What is DAC?

Digital to Analogue Converter

Keeps audio signal higher with less degradation resulting in higher quality audio output than other phones
Go on eBay get your self a brand new sealed HTC 10 instead for not more than 260 pounds in your favourite colour and I have both.

I still prefer v20 if one has HTC 10 with it.
I like this phone a lot and I've been considering it. But for this kind of money, I think I'd go for the Pixel 2 XL. Orrrr.... I'll probably just wait a while and see what deasl come up as these prices are getting out of hand.

The Nokia 8 really isn't comparable to this phone, they are pretty much the same physical size, but the Nokia has a 5.3 inches screen and a 69.4% screen-to-body ratio, the LG fits in a 6 inch screen into the same size body with a 81.2% screen-to-body ratio. Nokia looks very dated on comparison.
V10 on eBay is only around £150, any good? See the massive difference in price between sending from China and Europe (150 vs 400), any real difference in the device?

which has a better dac

htc 10 - lg v30 - or v20

did have a htc 10 dac was good maybe bit too bassy (could have been headphones)
Android Oreo update began rolling out for the V30 today as well

And the bigger screen? The bezel-less display?
Don't think this is much better spec'd than the lg g6 which you can get much cheaper (assuming version with DAC)
I believe the Dual sim model is cheaper on E-Global Central
The spec on this phone is amazing and the hardware is good. But it's an LG and depreciation is around 70% as soon as you take it home.

There's not many phones with decent DACs. I gave up and just purchased a Dragonfly red.

I have the quad DAC g6, no complaints... I'll be importing the 128gb for less than £600 anyway... Wondamobile.com! Price on LGs fall quickly..

Anyhow, perhaps you're in a hole.

It also has a kicksass amp, which will power high impedance headphones. Like the hd650s.

G6 is closer to V20. Got my V20 for just over £200 from China about 6 months ago. Main difference is V30 has a much greater screen to body ratio so has a smaller bezel.

I personally prefer the v20 over the v30. The camera is not as good as I thought it would be on the v30. The v20 second screen, replaceable battery, dual sim are much more useful. I had high hopes for Oled screen on the v30 but again, I find the v20 screen better and slightly wider which is more useful than having a taller one.

I agree, normally never spend over £200 on a phone, but I bought an S8 as I can offset it against company profits. Would rather the money go to Samsung than the govt to give away in foreign aid or benefits for the entitled and lazy.
-Minus for poor battery life and non flagship class image quality, LG better luck next year

Its down to the headphones aswell. Really depends on your headphones and music source also. I have so many phones and headphones its difficult to answer.
I've a V20 I got for a lot less - I've a large sd card in it, it's great for music - not used the camera that much, but seems good and the video we recorded at a concert was very good.

I paid under £250 for it and that seem reasonable value for a 4/64.

Is this worth nearly an extra 450???? I couldn't justify it.

Huawei mate 10 pro > Lg v30

Yep, I've had three Huawei's now, they're great phones but the fact that they removed the headphone jack and sd card slot on the pro sucks! The screen on the pro is also lower res than the mate 10, which doesn't make sense, but I would have lived with that.
