Just been to Aldi and spotted that they have Libby's solid pack pumpkin in their current 'Taste of the States' range. Not always that easy to come by, and £2 at Ocado.

The pumpkin pie recipe on the tin is the original and classic, but if you fancy something a little more elaborate:

(it's lush)

A vote for the recipe on the tin, if you like cheesecake you'll like this.

Does this stuff actually taste alright? I like to make pumpkin pie with fresh ones but never used this!

I've used it before, to me it tasted better than the stuff you can make using culinary pumpkins, plus even imported its cheaper than them!

My American son in law thinks its great.

That's all I need to hear! Thanks!

ive also heard tinned is better than fresh. love pumpkin pie!!

Bought 4 because my OH said they are the best for pies. Can't wait for them to be reduced because not many of them will sell due to the British palate They would cost twice the price in an American foodstore in this country.

They sell tinned pumpkin in Tesco's too

Do you know the size of the can or better still what the drained weight is?
