They're **** annoying.
The water ones work a lot better. youtu.be/urq…bBY
Water version is more efficient at deterring cats but the one I had started to malfunction, leaking water plus the sun and weather in general have adverse effects on pir sensor, so eventually put a very thin wire trellis fence up all around the garden on top of six foot fence seems to of stopped 99% of cats coming to crap in gravel beds, plus the birds have started nesting again now!
I like the idea of a solar panel, has anyone used one ?

I have this type below but rechargeable batteries are quite costly .

They do work well, but if you have a large garden you will need more than one to cover the whole area.

yes, they really are.

my old neighbor, she is home bound, (she is a very nice person) and she would put cats food at doorstep and fed any cats come by around). Now this become a strong hood, at least 10 coming and go (sometimes more than 20!)

for some reason I don't understand, those cats just like come into my garden only to leave something behind. It's smelly and unhygienic. Summer is coming and I like to sit at the garden without this nonsense.

thanks a lot for all the useful information. I would try it later.
Had at least 4 different cats $#itting in my garden last year. Bought 2 of these and they work. Some cats dissapeared straight away others took longer but I removed the sensors over winter and have had no cats return so far. I cant hear them but they annoy my Mrs. It's usually only children that can hear them.

thanks a lot, I had thought about such before but I worry if they works and water could come into the battery slot easily because where my garden facing. I would look into this one, thanks

Not bothered about cats, but if it repels noisy kids then great, if it repels mrs too then the garden will be somewhere to enjoy some peace.
Interesting, got a cat issue at the end of my garden this could be useful.

Ha ha, don't that the mrs see this
A mad old fella said on a radio phone that he pees on his own driveway to keep the cats off. He swore by it. I happened to be potty training my toddler so decided to empty the wees from the potty in the garden. It worked, no more cats.

got one of these this week.installed it.watched a cat stop and look at the led light that is triggered when they walk past.it went through sound cycle and within 10 seconds cat was straight over fence and out the garden to dump somewhere else! result ! so far..........
Its a good idea to move the sensors around the garden. I did have one smart cat that figured out how to sneak around them, the git even pooped right behind it to say up paws oO

thanks for sharing, now I could make up my mind and buy them (think better than those on amazon as lidl has longer warranty)

We only have big animals round our way, not Lidl ones - guess this wouldn't work then.
I've unplugged a neighbours one of these, get its a cat deterrent but was going on at jack all
Hi
Does anyone know if this would work near a pond to keep the blooming herons away??
Quite happy with pooping cats - but fed up with herons nicking my goldfish.
Anyone know if they work on foxes?

Herons are very persistent and will keep trying so even if it did it would only work once or twice but the Heron wont be bothered by it. Jet spray repellers are your best bet if you dont want to put anything in the actual pond .

It has an adjustable frequency which supposedly can work on large dogs and foxes but I doubt it really works well with a cunning fox. Usually only electric fences work with them.
I had my back door open once and a fox walked in and right up to us.

Here are two versions of something similar to what ive got around my garden, http://www.wilko.com/decorative-edging/wilko-fence-wicker-93x42cm/invt/0169816
http://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/decorative-picket-fencing-4pk-297037
i did get mine from either bmstore or poundstretcher when they had a sale a few years ago paid about £1 to 2 per piece trellis, approx. £30 in total to cover all of the tops of the fence, it was a lot of faffing to attach with heavy duty staple gun but worth it as seldom get cats anymore!

Yeah I've tried that waste of time and money, the only thing that seems to work is the wire fence/trellis as the cats can't climb, jump or crawl through it unless they are small kittens, had mine up about 5years, best solution for me!

these things cause migraines, and IMHO should be banned... they also cover too larga an area and cause distress to cats in their owners houses, while I feel for everyone who has the cat poop issues (I do, and I know its not my cat as she's an indoor cat).. but please do not use these things...
I bought something like this from Amazon, the solar charging didn't work and the battery died after a week or two
Here's one I made earlier

LMAO. So these are so good that they can detect a moving cat in the neighbours house, Gotta get me some more of these .
If its a toss up between my son happily playing in my own garden or giving the cat free will to $#it in my garden then I'm happy for the cats owner to suffer with migraine .

These sort of small non named electronic things are usually of poor quality and don't last long.
On the other hand, you can always take it back if you buy from Lidl.
