Sneezed over, coughed over, handled by various people including staff and not covered, no thanks, doesn't matter what price they are.

LIDL really should get their act together with bakery products. Just 2 days ago I watched a member of staff carrying dirty boxes of fruit n veg to the display area, then get a broom to sweep the floor because of mess he'd made and then go straight to the freshly cooked bakery goods and proceeded to unload them with his bare hands. He then got called to open a till, handled dirty cash and then straight back to the bakery area to continue handling bread rolls. Shocking hygiene !

You followed him around?
That's quite worrying
I love Lidl bakery section, the problem is I can never decide what I fancy so end up walking out with six/seven cakes. I'm not going to worry about a few germs either when I can get three freakin cakes for a pound coin.

lidl Bakery is the best, agreed with the hygiene part hence why I always take pastries right from the back of the tray using the tensile provided.

No, you put them in supplied plastic boxes, after other people have sorted through them.

There are loads of bakery style items in packaging near the biscuit section

Well said that man!
Just spray it with dettol before eating, job done.
Can’t stand LIDL, like shopping in a pet store!

Its self defence
The new brownies are super tasty, slightly on the smaller side though.

You saw all that, how long were you in the store for? Sounds like fake news to me
Yum Yums are my #1 here. The cookies used to be nice, strange taste to them now.

I work for the store and whoever is in the bakery wouldn't be interrupted and called to the till, once in the bakery the employee is left to it until they're finished and then they do other jobs such as being on the till, fruit and veg ect. The person doing the bakery wouldn't be called to tills because of the ovens being left unattended. If he'd have been called to tills he'd have been on them for 5-10 minutes at the very least... so you were stood waiting there all that time? Sensing fake news
Why do people always complaint about them being left open in every Lidl bakery deal. Almost all supermarkets do the same thing unless it's prepackaged. :/

Your senses of fake news are clearly as bad as Donalds above. I take it you can corroborate what each and every Lidl store does ? No, I didn't think so.
I was waiting for my wife, just behind the tills, adjacent the bakery and fruit n veg area which are located very close by so had a crystal clear view of the bad hygiene being employed in this store. No following or stalking required, just eyes wide open for reasons not to go near LIdl open bakery items.

I've seen people use hands to pick items from the bakery section then decided they don't want them and put them back.

In Lidl and also in Aldi, I walk past them to get to my work and most times treat my self.

The staff might wear plastic gloves, but the buyers don't.

I will try to buy packaged items from now.

You can never be too careful these days
