Lidl only sells its Italian range coffee 3 or 4 times a year, and they usually sell out within a few days, probably due to restaurant and independent coffee shops snapping them up. So when it does come up I usually stock up on the 100% Arabica beans. They produce a nice rounded flavour with no harshness or bitterness. And at £6.99 per kg, they are extremely good value for money.

Only in Lidl NI at the minute.

Title is misleading, if 100% Arabica then it can't be a robusta blend
Is this beans only or already ground?

No its not because its a choice of Caffe Tradizionale100% Arabica or Espresso Magnifico Caffe In Grani Arabica Robusta blend. And there was me thinking the two different names was self explanatory.

Beans only.

If I buy a bag ,could you grind them for me 🤣

I could surely
Will look out for when these appear in Cardiff Lidl, hopefully soon. Does the sale of these coincide with other special promotions, like say 'Italian Week' or something? Would make it easier to spot. Cheers OP.

EDIT: Just saw the NI website, looks like it does....

Yeah it does. Although there have been times when they've had the Italian promotion and the coffee hasn't been included.
Never had these before. Are they good enough to warrant buying a cheap grinder and stocking up?
Exclusive to NI sadly... Looked at the Lidl app and no Italian week showing...

Yes they most certainly are. If you're careful what type of grinder you go for then that could be a good decision. Don't buy a blade type as these just basically obliterate the beans and don't produce a very good flavour. Get a burr type with a good range of grind settings. Before getting my bean-to-cup machine I used a Dualit burr grinder which I bought used on here (I think) for around £30. It has a good sized hopper which also acts as the grind selector. There is also an amount selector. I would definitely recommend it.
None that I could find in Belfast city centre store...

.Probably the case. All the cafes and independent coffee shops can't believe their luck at getting a kg of decent quality coffee beans for £7.

Not that it’s much use to you but I’m down in Enniskillen today from Belfast and they’ve loads here. Just grabbed one to try them out.
Just picked up a different one in lidl UK , 1.2kg crema 100% Arabic for £8.99, seems a good deal and nice taste
Got a couple in the belfast store this morning. There was quite a few.

I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for these when/if they get to our shores.

They are indeed. I have replenished my stocks
I grabbed just one more bag. Will tide me over until the next time they’re on. I’ve just started into one recently. Grabbed the 100% arabica this time. The blend of it and robusta was good though. Very good in fact.

And now that you're getting 100% arabica beans for the same price, you'll never go back to robusta blend again . Unless you've no choice of course .
Hi guys I'm new to the website. I just bought this coffee the Caffe 100%Arabica bag. Does this one need to be grinded as fine as it'll go without it tasting sour?
What setting do you guys have your grinder on?
Thanks

Hi Mick rick,

I wonder if you could help.
What grind size are you using on your grinder?
How long did your shot take?

I've since changed to a Delonghi bean-to-cup machine. I use the 2nd finest grind on it, a shot takes around 10 seconds till it starts to blonde. The finest grind was taking far too long. The process was finishing before the shot was fully pulled.

On the Delonghi grinder I was using the finest grind. It was still a little too coarse for my liking. I was having to use an extra shot to get my espresso the way I like it. But don't be thinking because these are the settings I was using that it's going to be to your liking. What machine are you using?

Im using a sage barista express which has a built in grinder. My setting is the 4th finest and i think its quite nice there. I do the same as you and stop the extraction before it goes blonde.

I've noticed everyone likes there shot different
