Cordless?

Yeah.

You can see from the picture that it is a cordless iron. I assume it heats up the plate when in it's 'dock' . I assume it holds heat for some time but will quickly reheat every time you place it back in the dock. Seems like a great idea to stop getting the cord in the way when ironing.

That was my presumption - kinda like a 'traditional' iron, as it goes :).
Just that this doesn't look to have that thick a bit of metal to keep the temp up - however hot water will presumably help and 2400w should get it back up to temp fairly quickly.

Was this actually available instore because I've looked online and it is stated under 'offers from 13.01.14' Did'nt want to dash down there for a wasted trip!

The post states it starts in 3 days

Nice, I'll give the Mrs. £15 and let her out of the kitchen to go out and get one, she can keep the change as a treat

Great deal for this kind of iron. However cordless irons are totally useless. It is a bit like going back to Victorian times where you have to heat the iron up on the fire, except with less syphillis.

Hate tangled iron cords so much i don't iron so i will have to keep an eye out for this so i can start wearing crease free clothes again.

Cordless irons are okay if you are the type of person that puts the iron down frequently when ironing and this often depends on the type of item you are ironing as you align it. I got too frustrated when I was trying to iron large items at a reasonably high temperature. £15.99 sounds an absolute bargain, because I think I paid about £80 for mine. I put mine on Freecycle and went back to a regular steam iron.

Seems a good idea, but now I'm not so sure. Anyone else think they're useless?
