Not a cheese I would eat on it's own or use for crackers, but good for freezing and topping lasagne, pasta, etc.

Nevermind the cheese, that's a really great price on their muesli - I'll be stocking up!

Thanks OP I love strong cheese, but this is just a bit OTT, ideal for cooking. Going to give the Extra mature a try this weekend. Also on offer is Lidls Muesli its really nice and is only 99p for 750g usually £1.69

why do people rave about lidl and aldi i think they're food is awful the meat is always chewy and tough the veg goes to mush after 1 or 2 days pay the little extra and get decent food from m&s or Waitrose that all your family will enjoy in the long run you will save money because you wont be throwing out cheap rotten veg or not eaten food from your family plates

Nope. I find *their* food is great quality, the meat is excellent.

you be idiot? lol

the quality stuff they do is about half price vs the quality stuff from the big 'other' supermarkets

and it's very good 'quality' stuff as well - stuff like you'd find in Harrods Delicatessen

I prefer the black one for snacking, and the gold one is good for cheese on toast and the like.

Bought six packs of cheese today and there was plenty.

I was going to take a photo of the cheese.
What do you ask cheese to say when you are taking a photo?

dont like the lidl red/purple pack stuff much but bought a pack of each of these to try despite the off-putting 'crunchy' name

the extra mature was surprisingly very nice - would definitely give it a go
the vintage stuff was pretty strong but not quite as rounded flavour as the extra mature so id avoid it (and its a smaller pack as well 250 vs 320g)
