Lidl deluxe fresh scottish beef extra lean steak mince 250g £1.29 from 5th feb

Found 29th Jan 2015
Looking through the latest Lidl leaflet, they have their deluxe fresh scottish beef extra lean steak mince on offer for £1.29 for a 250g pack. Reduced by 60p from £1.89.
This is not part of their half price weekend offers and should be available to all. It may not sound like a great bargain, but this mince is very good and better than their normal lean mince imho.
From 5th feb for a week.

Never had anything from the deluxe range that I would even remotely consider buying again. Lidls mince is terrible even the lean stuff is very chewy

Prefer mince from local butcher but this stuff is alright and fantastic value at this price. As for jase99 ignore him he posts anti Aldi and Lidl stuff on every thread he can. Says he never shops there but seems to have in-depth knowledge of all of their products!

Hot from me btw

Just to clarify 'jase99' seems to be a disgruntled tesco and/or morissons employee depressed with their loss of market share. He does not seem to realise that his comments are being noticed by more and more people, and in my case (probably others) just encourages/ reminds me to go to Aldi /Lidl more often. Thereby putting his favourite shops in greater jeopardy. If you read his posts and his horrendous experiences at Aldi/Lidl you would wonder why he is still shopping there (as if he does!).

Here he is! Like clockwork.

Can everyone just report him? I'm sick of seeing him in these threads to be honest, if enough people report, the mods might listen.

I like Jase99 reviews, going to collate them and make a desk calendar! Here are a few of my favourites;

Probably the only true part of 'jase99's statement-
''Never had anything from the deluxe range''

I'd love to know the real reason he says what he says.

My theory is he's actually Tesco's CEO.

I am the fussiest person in the world when it comes to meat, mince especially. I'll only normally buy it from M&S or Sainsburys but my husband bought this last week. At first I was horrified but it was absolutely fine. No fat or nasty bits and actually very good. I'll be buying it again whether or not it's on offer.

There's somebody who stalks Yankee Candle threads too always commenting how they are not the same as they used to be etc..seems to have a proper grudge.
I think she should get together with Jase99 and go bowling or something.

I wonder if after returning from a busy shift at Tesco/Morrisons Jase99 came home to find his missus in bed with a Store Manager from Aldi and an Area manager from Lidl......

Look on the bright side folks. If negative comments puts people off getting the half price offers at Lidl - it means a better chance there will be some left in stock for everyone else. If the other Lidl stores are like mine, they sell out of the meat offers early on Saturday morning...

There is an ignore list facility available on HUKD which will hide comments from any particular individual you add on your list.

Very good point! I've started going to Lidl shortly after opening on Saturday mornings to make sure I get my goodies. They do sell out pretty sharpish!

Sorry my bad

Does anyone know what the percentage fat is in this please. I normally buy the 10% steak mince, 500g for about £2.60.

5% or 14% I believe (depends whether you look at fat or saturates).

Thanks for the reply, I had a look today. It says 7% on the front of the pack.

if its 7% fat then how can it be extra lean? Lean is 5% in the supermarkets... I was going to get some but I can only have 5% on SW. Still a bargain though so heat added.

I think it's 5%. It shouldn't be extra lean otherwise.

I would also like to know the fat content as won't eat over 5% so if anyone happens to see it please post. I have to travel a distance to my local Lidl but would be worth it if it is 5%.

On the front of the pack it describes this as 'Full of flavour, lean and succulent, typically less than 7% fat' On the back it mentions 'typical values' '6.6g per 100g fat' 'of which saturates are 2.4g' 'average adult serving 104g fried as per instructions, 10g fat of which 4.5g are saturates' That must be the addition of oil when frying.
