Lidl are selling these once again from Thursday 12th March 2015. They've been 59p previously but are priced at 55p. Seen in their online leaflet. A decent price. Should be national.

Stick a few strands in a sandwich and give it too someone, their poo is bright yellow

I wonder what the difference between deluxe saffron threads and ordinary saffron threads is?

just a brand name with lidl.

but in the real world its no different to say coffee beans, you can get cheap beans or stupidly expencive beans, and everything in between.

Depending on how its harvest, dried, packaged, where its grown, how its grown etc etc will all affect the quality and the price.

Not sure if you being serious..

Deluxe is a range of products not a quality grading so the same product is not in both levels but of lesser quality... In summary this is the only saffron lidl sell it is in there deluxe range.

have they sold out of the 1kg bags?

Try this amazing tagine recipe which uses saffron, don't miss out the preserved lemons, waitrose stock them and big sainsburys, one of my favourites. If you like easy chicken dishes kind of a one pot try this clicky here

Bought the 55p snuff the other day at lidl, although 0.5g was £2.47 in Asda, so not much of a deal

So that's just £5,500 per kg? Bargain!

Saw this the other day, is it cheap?

and its a misleading range because deluxe is a word meaning luxury and the deluxe range is defenitely not luxury.

Works out to £5.50 per gram.

A quick search on Amazon yields 1gram at £2.85 inc delivery. See amazon.co.uk/FIN…ron

The more common brand for indian cooking is £2.89 from amazon.co.uk/dp/…c=1 and has an ISO 3632 Cat II grade on the label.

get 1g from green street at about a £1/£1.50 not sure if the quality is worse or better than what lidl sell though.

for those of you who have no idea what green street is its a Asian shopping street in London.

That's a good price. I shall be stocking up!
If anyone is wondering it is very very light so there will be a lot of it.
