The world is waking up to Lidl's great value.
Thanks for the post.
Hot

I think Tesco are price matching the carrot deal. The pork chops are hot.

Thing is I don't like the fact that this deal is just for the weekend. It should be longer.

Kabano's with frozen vodka. Now there's an interesting night.

mmm!! kabanosi!!! great hot or cold!! hot from me!!

What is the Kabanossi like?

thank you. heat added

Kingfisher

480kg of pork loin for £1.49 wow, what a bargain, do they provide the arctic lorry to get it home

I was wondering what actually went into the Vita D'Or "Frying Oil". I found an old reference to Vita D'Or 100% Corn Oil on the internet (see link)...

food.gov.uk/mul…pdf

Vita D'Or is (or was) made exclusively for Lidl. It may be that this "Frying Oil" is just a rebrand of the old Vita D'Or 100% corn oil that was tested in this government study. However if you read through the link, corn oil is more expensive that soya oil or rapeseed oil. I'm not sure if there's anything wrong with oil from soya or rapeseed but they sound inferior and might make your chips taste funny!

Excellent for the car though!

Had to think about it but yes, 62p/litre must be a very competitive price if you use this as a diesel substitute! I guess at the normal price or £1.24/litre, it's probably cheaper to use DERV.

Guess folks aren't following this thread now but in case you are...

According to the label, the Vita D'Or Frying Oil is a mix of sunflower oil and rapeseed oil with the wording suggesting that it's predominantly sunflower oil. I reckon I can use this for bread making (which is why I was curious in the first place).
