Personally tried the Apple Turnover and Pain au Chocolat which taste a lot better than some of the competitors and portion sizes are generous. Enjoy.....

Thanks @brilly

Mods - Please note that I might be mistaken but I have not seen this listed on the weekly LIDL deals thread hence the separate post, hope this is OK.

Ah well another reason to visit again...Oddly did not seem widely advertised in store beyond a white label under the product but the reduction was shown clearly on my receipt.

To be honest the promotion was not clear so I just stuck with the 3 Pain Au Chocolat, not sure if you can mix and match, can anyone else confirm?

just wondering how you knew about the deal then as you said they weren't advertised?
said just a white label which tends to be a non promotional price displayed

I was going to buy a couple of the Pain au chocolat and then just saw the white label with the offer on there hence I ended up buying three, does seem like a promotion as it showed the deduction on the receipt.

ah right... so offer was possibly on the wrong colour of paper.
and the other two products also had white 'promotional' tickets i presume.
thanks for clarifying!

The Lidl I was visiting (Pemberton) did not even show the promotion labels for the apple turnover or the cookies (just as well as I would have ended up buying those!), I just noticed these on the Lidl web site when posting this deal.

ah! the penny has finally dropped - thanks
Can't wait for a Lidl to open closer to me, there bakeries are brillant and crazily good value for money.
Thanks OP Lidl were doing a similiar promo on the Chelsea Buns a wee while back, they are really nice, glad when it ended though lol. I think the pastry on the the apple turnovers are a bit greasy, tried one and never again.

Those cookies are 100% dangerous. Probably the best thing I've ever eaten!
Our Lidl has just put all the bakery prices up by 3p

Agreed, the bakery items in my local Lidl are also at toddler/young child level where they can touch and where they cough without covering their mouths! Urggghhh!!!

Having said that, its a good deal if it suits you! Voted hot.

They’ve changed the cookie recipe. Used to be soft now there solid.
Oh my thighs.
I prefer Aldi bakery, much more buttery ... although Lidl ain't too bad..

Heat added.

Kindest regards

A lot in that. Lidl UK (unlike most mainland Europe Lidls) makes no real effort to separate the food you're buying from other people's hands, coughs, sneezes etc - not for me thanks. Not overkeen on shared Norovirus etc.
Lovely.

As said every one of these will come with added bacteria from peoples dirty hands.
To be fair to Lidl they do provide tongs to handle the food when placing them in the provided bags. A lot of the in store baked products at other supermarkets are also on open display.

My Lidl seem to bake at least twice a day if that helps anyone, once first thing and then early afternoon but I guess the second bake depends on demand.
Heat from me Lidl stuff is yum 😋 As for folks going on about Lidl's bakery being covered in chemicals worse than nerve agents - well the world is covered in other people pee, going by how many oiks who don't wash their hands after going to the loo urgh
I've read this whole thread twice and I'm none the wiser as to if this is a national deal of a local RTC.

Anyone else actually seen it.
No sign of the offer on the site about the Pain au Choc, but i do see the apple turnover and db choc cookies. Hope the pain au choclat are part of it , as we love them in my house hold.
33454966.jpg@jennypenny took this yesterday when I purchased the pain au chocolat which shows the 3 for £1 offer, not sure if this is national but was available in the Pemberton store. @LesD The offer for the apple turnover and cookies are on the Lidl website so I guess must be national. Hope it helps.

The bakery items all look very nice but, like others on here, I don't buy because of hygiene concerns. Went in to Lidls in Sutton in Ashfield a few weeks back and watched a lad (early 20s) pick up every single cookie in a tray with his bare hands, ignoring the tongs, apparently looking for those that had the most chocolate chips in them. I decided then that any bakery items I bought would be pre-packed.
Love the bakery section. Phresh!
They have cinnamon rolls included in this too! And chocolate twists. Obviously small sized to the large ones but perfect for me for a snack or with a cuppa
I can confirm I saw the offer for three mini pastries for 45p
I'll admit their stuff looks nice, scones etc, just wish they would bag/box them or at least put clear perplex covers on the display cases like other shops do,maybe I'm too fussy.

I guess if you get in early it’s a great deal. I’d pass on the scraps as in the photo a few posts back. Tongs - excuse hands !
Gross. Was there a few days ago and a child was grabbing all of them, parent did/said nothing. No thank you. Made me think twice about anything like that.
