Dropped in last week to get an electric blanket, produced by the same firm as this (silvercrest), which was very cheap for a 2 zone electric blanket, very soft fleece, oversized heat mat 60W consumption 9 settings in each heat zone (lcd controller & countdown timer).

Now if this is as good as the blanket, which I really recommend @£30 if there are any left) ..then this at £19.99

Specs..
6 temperature settings for long-lasting, soothing heat
Automatic power off after approx. (mins): 180
Electronic temperature control with overheat protection
Made from cosy, warm material with press studs for secure fastening
3 year manufacturer's warranty

OK not the coolest of looking things but freezing aint fashionable, ..perhaps think of this as a lazy afternoon / evening personal heat solution without whacking the heating up (much if at all).

If an electric blanket is 60w max I anticipate this will be between 30 - 45w per hour ..so lots of worst of winter energy bill saving potential.

regardless old or young none of us can afford to be overzealous with the heating, something like this (only as stupid looking as a onesie) ..is something to seriously contemplate (unlike a onesie).
combined with a decent fleece blanket this could have you properly snug as a winter bug ...( but not the D&V one).

Starts Mon 28th Oct.

& if granny still moans, strangle her with the power cord!

Sorry not available, will have to get one out of the packaging to guesstimate it, bear in mind a shawl originates from a smaller draped round the shoulders blanket, so i'd guess about typical jacket size & take it from there.

Yes it even has wireless charging, built in tablet style display for control and the hydrogen powered jet pack that also comes supplied splits water into fuel using solar panels. So while it keeps you warm you can travel anywhere for free while staying warm...

No it isn't wireless, are you clueless?

So infrequently do we have the opportunity to reference the proletariat. Bravo!

You could use an extension cable

A solar powered hydrogen generator, now there's an idea!

This is more like a solar powered methane generator for its target demographic (since the sun determines sleeping cycles)

Unplug it. It will stay warm for a bit!

all the countries problems would be sold if we just euthanized all these old folk anyway, I mean seriously WTF do they bring to the table..

They use up all the large housing
Takee all the spots on the buses
Fill up the hospital wards
Fill up the doctors surgery
Clog up the roads with their 10mph driving

Bit harsh that, it's not unreasonable to ask if it carries some charge. I've never bought one of these so although I assumed it had to be plugged into the mains I wouldn't have been surprised if it lasted a while as you pottered about.

If you want an affordable means to stay warm, if you live in a "barn" like I do. Run a search for "German Tank Liner" through Google or Ebay. This should cost you about £15, and is great for general use and really hard wearing, plus you can wash it, should you feel the need.

Thanks for the post, this has made me go hunting for a warming blanket.

How long is the lead so i can wear it to the shops?
Thanks

& mothers giving birth to babies clog up hospital wards, then all that ongoing initial aftercare...
THen years of being a germ spreading snotbox.
Then all the cost of that schooling
Plus all the subsidies for a youngster or family allowances, et al.
Preferential treatment demanded & given in all sorts of places.

Face it, at either end of life massive costs, perhaps then put down pregnant mothers, babies & those who make the mothers pregnant in the 1st place....

Ah wait, another heavily flawed rationale oO

Joking aside, the scary thing is our political masters are already well aware of the benefit of letting the old, sick and weak die off.

Incredible that any country which lets people die for the sake of lining others pockets can call itself a developed first world nation.

We'll put you first in the queue to be knocked off as soon as you reach 60 then! lol

Logan's run could really be the future! oO sooner than we think.

I'm actually for euthenasia in the form of assisted suicide, it's a mixed bag, ..I wouldn't let my animals suffer unnecessarily, I hope someone would have the heart & sense to make the right choice for me if & when I needed it, (I anticipate I will)

Can't abide folk who would & DO stand around whilst an animal is clearly in pain without a chance, I've stoved a few animals heads in quickly whilst others watch, (pity the fools) ..& had to take their indignation afterwards at doing such a horrible thing ...by the driver for instance of the car that was speeding that knocked the poor animal down in the first place, or the dog owner whose out of control animal had bitten into the lung of the bird, the blind myxi rabbit which is so messed up it cannot even detect a humans presence nearby . oO

cat prey etc..."lots" (keep your cat in at from before dusk till after dawn, prime wildlife feeding & activity time)!

Large animals, dog, horse..

probably the same folk who get squeamish when confronted with juices from raw packaged meat

but back on track, it was quite clear the initial post regards old folk was clearly a joke, ..leave them be.

But only in a sick mind - it simply isn't a funny subject.

Can it be washed in the washing machine ?
