LIDL is giving away free christmas stuff - mini marzipan and butter stollen, candy canes, chocolate coins

Hi, first post, and could not not share...

Just return from LIDL Northampton, and a load of boxes were piled at the exit. A guy then approached me if I wanted marzipan - then loaded me with free christmas food:
I got 2 packs of mini marzipan and butter stollen
2 packs of candy canes and 4 packs of chocolate coins.
All of them have best before March / April.
All for free :-)

I think it must be nationwide.2875259.jpg

Yes, half will be sent to my starving kids at different universities, the other half given to a poorly neighbour recovering from mini strokes. Me and the wife are sugar free so no chance of us gobbling it up :-)
Shame they can’t donate to food banks, I know it’s not healthy but even so ...
No wonder they are giving it away if it's stollen

Good find! Our Local Lidl had zero Xmas items from about the 20th December.
We've had a few posts recently but non of these items, you got a good haul there and you can't beat free so thanks for posting @graham.orritt
Already posted yesterday- not national as yet, I went yesterday after seeing this deal and it wasn't available in my Northern Ireland store but maybe it will be available in the next couple days or it could be mainland only
They should donate the food to people that really need it. Dont get it just because its free, get it if you are actually going to eat it or give it away

I like the image. Although it would be improved by sticking the guy in nice green elf outfit, complete with dapper little cap. If anyone starts a crowdfunding initiative to buy him one, I will contribute.
i went to lidl Coventry (foleshill branch), checkout staff had a box of mini stolen cakes, she gave one to the person in front of me, she didn't give me one, when I asked her she said you have to shop over £20, said I could buy one for 99p.
Nothing like this at all in my local Lidl - only thing they had Christmas related was reduced price frozen turkey crowns lol

My local store in NI has loads of Christmas stuff with no reductions whatsoever. Crazy.

Seems like different stores have different approach. At LIDL in Bingham. Notts, the lady in front of me at the checkout was offered freebies before anything had been through the till - so no minimum spend? I had already decided I wasn't interested, but wasn't offered - those LIDL guys can mind read! Nothing on the packing bench.

I only went to the Bury store yesterday for a nosey after picking up a parcel from the Royal Mail depot opposite, bought a bag of sugar and noticed that the shopper in front was given some freebies - I only spent a little over a quid but the cashier handed me a large Stollen and a bag of chocolate balls and said 'we're giving away free gifts today'. Went back today to pickup a car battery charger for £13.99 but all freebies gone.

Yep!, I can only well imagine the "All GONE" will be the general consensus now perhaps?.

After Deal's like this hit HUKD, it's anyone's guess ... lol.
