So, how much meat is left if the bone is removed? I don't like paying fifteen quid a kilo for bone!

this come in a 1.1kg box or other sizes?
It's not the weight but the quality which matters primarily with steak...what cut is this?
Ribeye
Reverse searing that bad boy with the bone in would be so tasty.

The Cowboy Deluxe steak is a bone-in ribeye steak with a short frenched bone, and Lidl reckons it's the first supermarket to sell one.
The steak will be available in stores from Thursday (March 29th), and will only be available whilst stocks last.

Tomahawk steak is a cut of beef ribeye that has five or more inches of extra rib bone for presentation purposes. It's called a "tomahawk" cut because the steak with the long bone resembles a single-handed axe. This particular cut of steak is also referred to as the "cowboy steak" or a "bone-in ribeye

Definitely! You can also finish it on the BBQ for extra caveman points, did this with one of the outsized Morrison's ones last year

if this is anything like the one they sold in Aldi last year, it will be fantastic. I still maintain to this day that it is still the best steak I have ever had.

£14.99 for 1.1kg makes it £13.63/kg for bone. Does that make you feel better?

What?
I like the Waitrose rib at £15.99kg,

waitrose.com/eco…859

catch a new one going out and get the rib from the end with the thin outside muscle.
when over stocked I get this down under £5kg but can't be choosy and have to trim to make rib eyes.

better still is the dry aged wing rib at £29.99kg.

waitrose.com/eco…527

With that I only buy over stock at <£10kg
I wonder if this will meat people's expectations.

Is this true? Or will they look at me like I’ve two heads
if it is anything like their other gimmick steaks, most stores tend to only have about a dozen in stock and are sold out within the first hour of opening. made worse by newspapers and news sites promoting them.

my local Lidl had people queueing up for ages just to get into the store for them
