saw a glue gun in Tesco last night for a fiver.

I have yet to find a use for a glue gun. I'm tempted to vote cold for it being no more than silly impulse buys.

How big are the glue sticks? if it's 100mm then that's expensive, if it's 300mm then it's cheap.... must find out

Not sure how well a cheap cordless glue gun would work. Maybe OK for little jobs but I can't see it keeping hot enough for very long.

Amazon do a decent corded Stanley gun for a fiver.

11mm Diameter x 160mm long - gotta be worth a punt?

I use mine when I'm making candles.

I glue tubes to pieces of cardboard and make my candles that way, it sets really quickly which is a bonus compared to bostik etc.

Because I make around 6-12 at one time its worth warming the thing up, if I didn't make candles, I'm not sure I'd use one either.

That's the fun of HUKD though, isn't it? What is of no use to me might be just the thing you need! In this case, I am a papercrafter and a hot glue gun is useful - a cordless one might be easier to use than a corded one.

Just my two cents worth of course ...

Not as good as the amazon deal a few months ago (glue gun plus 50 or so sticks for £1.99), but that was a glitch and I doubt we'll see it again in a long time, plus it was corded.

Every time I see a Lidl deal I wish I had one nearby, my closest is 20miles+ away

I use mine to join 2 pieces of wood that are too awkwardly shaped for G-clamps. Squirt the glue on one piece, attach the other piece, hold together for 60 seconds and they are joined. They can then be screwed together. You can't rely on the hot glue alone for a permanent joint.

These are great:)

RC planes made out of foam board - that's what I use mine for!

Managed to get Rhinestone applicator set - great xmas stocking filler for the other half - thanks

Tried at mine none left ;-(
