I've got one of these and it's actually pretty decent. A few points:
Stick a piece of duct tape over the little cut out by the blade and the dust extraction improves dramatically.
The supplied rails are pretty short, even though you can join them together.
The depth stop isn't great and is tricky to set exactly, keep in mind that like all rotating saws you only want the tip of the teeth to go through the other side of the material.

Ultimately it's not Festool quality but it's about 5% of the price for 75% of the functionality.

Is this really in the right category?

This type is good for cutting floor boards close to the skirting boards

Nice looking bra this head added. Shame it's too late for valentines.
anybody know if this is in other Lidl's - need one and wan't one. I was going to make something that I saw on one minute workshop on youtube and use my circular saw
Brilliant price for a decent tool.
Got one not bad but the only negative for me is when you join the two rails together. They’re only held together by one joint bridge/clamp so when you run the saw along the rails it’s has a tendency to stop at the joint. Haven’t worked out yet how to over come this. Really needs two clamps to hold the rails in place and stop the side unclamped from lifting.

I bought one of these they really do work very well. I have now fitted a trend blade which made a huge improvement over the supplied blade and has kept its edge much longer
They have these in the Dover Lidl for this price if anyone is after one down south.
None in Filton, Bristol store as I was there earlier
Excellent saw, use with care & it works accurately and reliably. One of the most useful tools to own once you use one. Heat.
Just been into the Perth store and grabbed the 2nd to last one. I seen the saw on here yesterday but when i seen this post of my local store having stock i had to take a visit - 9:45pm.

The Evolution rail kit is compatible and although it's two pieces, each piece is nearly the length of the two parkside ones combined. amazon.co.uk/Evo…JG/ although it's twice the price of the saw itself!

Must admit I've not had a problem with the parkside ones not lining up properly though, I only got the evolution ones because I was cutting up big boards. Also the Evo ones only have a single bar to join them, the same as the parkside...

Perth isn’t my local store, just happened to be passing through. Glad I did!

The way that I overcame this was to buy a longer guide rail

I ended up buying the Festool FS1400/2 which fits the Lidl plunge saw perfectly. Granted it's currently retailing at c.£80, but occasionally drops to a more reasonable price if you're able to keep an eye out!

Hope this helps!

Scunner, that's why there were none left when I went in, and none in Stirling too.
