Go see for yourself. Don't think the offer is online.

What detail would you like? It is in the chilled section, near the back of the store. The label stated roughtly £7 per kg down to £3.99. Could be a local offer - it's not online. Just thought I'd pass on some good information.

I don't normally pull up offers , even if they seem a little implausible, but a photo or receipt would be a good detail to post.
I thoroughly believe that the store could sell them for this price but there is no way they was only £7 per kilo originally

I put a receipt in earlier post titled proof

Also its down from 13.86 per kg

Thats even better! It said £7.99 on the advertisement in the shop. Thanks for sharing.

Do you know. You have a point. If I think about it, I always repeat Tom Kerridge's mantra to my folks. Eat food...eat proper food.

Thank you! This is my first time on here so I am a beginner. Trust me I could not believe the offer when I saw it.

ONINTKIS Posted this earlier, docs.google.com/fil…dit wouldn't that be proof enough?

I can imagine a restaurant using a kilo of this before it went off but I don't think we would in our household.

Don't worry about sell by dates with this sort of thing. Lasts for ages, just dries out a bit.

Ummm - It's cured ...... a preserving process from a time before refrigerators or sell-by dates. If you keep it somewhere cool and dry it will last for months - if the cut surface dries and you're fussy, you just cut off a thin slice and help yourself. Once sliced, it's a different matter - more surface area to dry or attract bacteria.

You do need a good sharp knife though, otherwise you'll end up with chunks not slices X)

I certainly didn't intend to insult you, far from it. It's just occasionally in the past some disreputable users have posted "unbelievable" deals which are completely spurious. So long term HUKD users are often sceptical that a "wild" deal is true, especially if it's from a new user and details are sketchy. The scepticism isn't personal it's just that in the past a lot of people have rushed off in search of deals that never were. I think posting which store it was would reduce doubt.

Clearly this deal is true, even if the price is "unbelievably" good, because onintks posted a receipt. So well done posting.

I guess the price reduction is local clearance of Easter stock and I would expect availability will be very patchy but certainly worth looking out for if you were going in anyway.

saw this in lidl about a month ago maybe?
in the special offers bit so probably just clearing it after easter

Looks like a tesco phantom offer never any available .

Can confirm this is in my store and should be national depending on stock obviously. At my store, the ticket was up but the till scanned full price so they calculated the actual price and charged accordingly.

From what I can gather, this is essentially a clearance price of the Easter/seasonal deluxe lines. Pretty sure this happened last time they were in at Christmas too.

Is this the cooked or undercooked ham?

True and untrue at the same time.

You don't cook dry-cured ham, you don't need to - it's cured, like smoked salmon.
