Excellent idea
I literally know nothing about growing things... Could anyone advise what type of soil I would need to grow these successfully? Thank you!

If you do - can I have your loo rolls?

Alas, I'm after those too. Save me going to the garden.
Deal has started already. There’s loads of different seeds for 5 x £1 I got these

and there’s lots of others for 49p per packet that are good value like these

That's perfect because super restores are at a record high
The herbs are easy to grow, only keep the slugs off. The vegetables are tricky, good for a hobby but won't give much produce, unless you live in sunny England

That's so cheap. I've been buying online for up to £3.50 each for some seed varieties
For beginners, I'd recommend any of the herbs, radish, cherry tomatoes and french beans.
A few pots of herbs, 4 tomato plants, 2 staggered rows of radishes, a row of beans, and a courgette plant or 2 would be a great start for a small family.

Just check the number of seeds in a pack to be sure you are getting a bargain.
