Lidl - Spend £25 and get £5 off (Scotland only)

Found 17th Aug 2015
For this deal you have to pick up "Lidl Smarter Shopping Card" from the shop - it looks like the one in the picture I've uploaded.

This particular deal (Spend £25 - get £5 off) is on between 17th and 26th August. Can be used for anything, including alcohol, once per transaction.

On the card it says it's valid until 28th of October 2015, so there will be more similar deals in the future.

NOTE - THIS IS VALID IN SCOTTISH STORES ONLY!

cold, Scotland only

ahhh ..Scotland only shoud be in the title!

Sounds racist to my,why should the celts get this deal..whats wrong with us anglo-saxons ?

A trial in Scotland that will no doubt be rolled out nationally.

This is a loyalty card for Lidl - similar to Clubcard, Nectar, Match & More card etc.

Sadly, looks like they're following the big supermarkets. No doubt prices will go up to fund the implementation of this loyalty card, media campaign etc. Forget about £5 off £25 spends and the loyalty card - just knock 10-20% off your items...

Come on, guys. What about all the deals that are England only!!

Have some heat for Scotland: 1) you're regularly left out of other deals 2) it's freezin up there, you need all the heat you can get:)

Hot.
Doesn't matter where it is, a deal is a deal.

Probably trialling the idea in Scotland, expect it to appear everywhere if it is considered a success.

People from England, it's a fiver saved at one of the nastiest supermarkets around, don't be jealous, I'm actually offended to have received rubbish like this in the post today, obviously it went straight in the bin.

My neighbour was in today and was told the offer starts on Thursday.

Hot deal though.

Hmm, I got two of these through my letterbox today, and it said you could get a "deal" with them, but it didn't even say what the deal would be.

So £5 off £25 isn't too bad, it's just a shame my nearest Lidl is over 10 miles away, even though my town has two Aldi's.

Not in Scotland but a deal is a deal heat added

Do they sell good midge repellant?

Aye Aye Freedom

Looks like they're copying the poll tax disaster.

I'll just vote every England-only deal cold then, irrespective of how good it is, fair?

Exactly. Some of the folks who live down south seem to believe that this is HED.

I know right? I think they are bribing people for all the awards they've been getting along with Aldi. There's no way they could get grocer of the year! They're probably faking their figures for increased sales and market share too.

Has either one of you actually shopped there before? I would go to either Lidl or Aldi before any one of Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Asda, M&S and so on. The quality of the food (if you know what to get) is excellent and none of the other supermarkets can get close to their prices. Do I also need to mention fresh fruit and veg that's much cheaper than in of any of those supermarkets? So saying that they're "nasty" etc. tells me that you're either a stuck up snob or an idiot. Probably both.

Sorry, I thought my sarcasm was obvious but obviously not. Maybe I should have used a wink emoticon.

Thanks for posting

Every lidl extra helps - Getting my Costco Ninja juicer today. Probably going to spend a fortune on fruit.

The novelty will no doubt have worn off by Thursday afternoon.

Agreed. Margaret Thatcher did the same for the Poll Tax, and we had to wait a year for it. It's an injustice it is, yes.

Gotta love HUKD. Lidl dropped these through with zero info about what the discounts would or could be! Glad to know! Cheers

got a card with the post this morning

Once again the English subsidising the Scots! ...KIDDING,just relax!:)

cold

So does that mean I spend £25 and get a £5 voucher or I spend £25 and only pay £20

How do you get your hands on one of these?

I've just been in to my local Edinburgh Lidl and they hadn't a clue what I was on about when I asked about the card (though it's the guy who I often get who is somewhat clueless). This would be a nice saving - I normally spend £30+ a week in Lidl.

Just the same as the poll tax, Scots get it first then everybody else.

That'll be every multibuy alcohol deal then - weird that we don't see these xenophobic comments England exclusive deals.

Voted hot , good deal for our friends north of the imaginary border some good stuff in Lidl ,meat, fruit, veg, bread etc only idiots pay twice the price on normal goods just because it has a supermarket label on.

I'm not a racist but... it's in Scotland, so but by the time I've driven from Derbyshire to Glasgow or wherever I'd have spent WAY more than a fiver in petrol, not to mention the 8 hour travel time. So it's cold from me.
