Lidl's own brand Bellaroma Coffee Beans.1kg - £8.99

1kg in a variety of strengths. Found now and again in various branches. Sometimes it's been as long as 4 to 6 months before available. Currently in stock at Chesterfield. Very hit and miss for availability, and often goes within a few days. But I've never found cheaper for 1Kg. Sometimes they have an XXL at 1.2kg. To my taste it's comparable to Lavazza. I stock up with 3 or 4 bags at a time. NOTE: the picture of the tin is NOT the 1kg Beans, which comes in a large bag.

Thanks, Henry, for your thoughtful and helpful comment. I guess I thought it's "Hot" compared to other brands/deals, though the main point being that it doesn't come up that often. But I would love your help to find something better. Gotta love them deals
Also, appreciate your support and encouragement, MOD.
BTW, the package is is a "sack", not a tin, but I couldn't find a photo.

I have bought these (have tried 2 strengths). I think it is nice coffee, and the bags are 1.2Kg, so not a bad deal at all really

Great tasting espresso and hard to find the beans these days. Price is good when compared to lavazza which IMO is not as nice.

Heat added

What's this like compared to their "Colombian" beans? because they are LOVELY.
Lavazza "Rosa" is overrated imho.

I'm no expert on coffee beans, but there are only really 2 types - Arabica and Robusta. I think all the different "varieties" are simply how they are blended, roasted, etc. Lidls are 100% Arabica (I just double-checked the package) which is considered the better quality. I haven't tried their Colombian type, but compared to most types (I have tried many over the years), in terms of good value, I think these take some beating. That said, I guess taste is subjective.

Correct, I pay this for lavazza regularly from amazon.

Wow that's great! - So delivery is free and/or doesn't need a fee paying subscription (Amazon Prime)? I'll have to check it out! Thanks

Hmmm... Just checked Amazon and could only find lowest price of £10.45 plus delivery. Or free delivery with a spend of £20. But thanks for the heads up. I'll check out from time to time.

I bought a tin of Illy medium roast beans today, its so-so and overpriced, the Lidl "Colombian" beans are better.

I have to agree - tried illy a few times when I was in Italy. Nice tasting, but can hardly qualify as "good value" at their price imho! I'm open to pay more for something that proves to be arguably better quality, but not simply for a "name". I'm ok with Lavazza, but again am not paying more for what I think is at least comparable with Bellaroma.

Thanks ill give it a try. I've BEAN using Spiller & Tait Signature Blend Coffee Beans for a while they are the best I've found. But cost £15 per kg, a bit less with subscribe and save.

I'd be interested to know what you think of the "Colombian" by Lidl, it's the best bean I've had so far from a supermarket.

I'm making a note to look for it on my next visit. Tbh, I'm a "supermarket slut", so don't visit any individual supermarket on a regular basis. I'm lucky to have almost every supermarket brand within 10 minutes drive, so find hotukdeals invaluable - especially when I am given helpful tips and suggestions such as yours. Many thanks

Just BEAN and checked the link you gave me for this brand - Thanks. 100% Arabica (as is Bellaroma) so that's a good start Guess it's now down to the different sources of beans, and how they've been roasted. Hope you'll post your verdict!

Same here, I have Asda, Lidl, Aldi, Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose, M&S, Co-op, Masala Bazar and lots of independents all near by. I don't even do a single shop in one I visit multiple on one day. Going to Waitrose today and Lidl.

I don’t think the business model is to be the cheapest for every product. You will need to start shopping at the £1 shop if that’s the aim of your sho

I guess you didn't read this thread carefully, or you would have read my saying,
"I'm open to pay more for something that proves to be arguably better quality, but not simply for a "name"."

Spiller & Tait is the bee's knees! Think you get 10% off your first order on their website too! Spiller & Tait
