Inspired by the scientific discoveries of real life body language specialist and criminal investigator Dr. Paul Eikman, the police detective series Lie To Me follows Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) and his special team of experts as assist local police, government agencies, and federal law enforcement in solving some of their most difficult cases. Dr. Lightman can detect a lie simply by studying a person's face, body, voice, and speech. The simplest gesture can tip Dr. Lightman off. He can read every emotion his subjects had thought they kept hidden, from jealousy, to sexual attraction, to resentment. But as helpful as this talent is in his professional life, it often proves a curse in his personal life. As the leader of The Lightman Group, Dr. Lightman presides over a team comprised of gifted psychologist Dr. Gillian Foster (Kelli Williams), who always has a solid grasp on the big picture, lead researcher Eli Loker (Brendan Hines), who despises the human tendency to lie to such a degree that he practices "radical honesty," and agency newcomer Ria Torres, a true natural in the field of deception detection. Together, The Lightman Group can sniff out any lie, and ensure that justice is served even when the culprit is a master manipulator. Features the first series of the show.

What he said ^^^^^^^^^^^

Excellent series, buy it

Thanks for this been waiting for it to come down in price.

This is so, so, so, so good. It's on my Sky+ series link

Lie To Me is ok, but I found it a bit formulaic. After a few episodes it gets a bit 'samey'. It doesnt have the season length slow burning trajectories of say, The Wire or Dexter.

really good series - worth the money

This is a fantastic show, and alongside Burn Notice is my favourite on at the moment.

£16 is a must own IMHO.

best tv ever

It's very good but probably not for everyone. Series 2 on Sky 1 at the minute.

really good one of my few sky links

I agree, can't wait for Burn Notice to restart though

American networks don't like that sort of thing, straining the brains of their viewers gets in the way of selling them rubbish with the ads. American TV is the break between the advertising. Hence arc heavy shows get cancelled in favour of story of the week. Few of them are any good, House is one that shines despite the formula. Expect more of the same.

Was last night's one the mid season finale? (another example of network sales)
