We have a couple of these. One stays in the house and one comes with us when we stay abroad. I always remember that story about the young brother and sister, who died on holiday because of a botched boiler. Not many people think of doing this but a lot of these beautiful holiday destinations have poor health and safety standards in comparison to our own.

Was looking at air bnbs the other day and it amazes me how many don't have a carbon monoxide detector...

Why do you need the one at home when you're not there?
excellent product, everyone check your not out of date, I checked mine and it was, along with fire alarm, that was days ago, now I got to wait for permission to replace it

Because we sometimes go away without the kids, who stay at home.
wouldnt be without this

Same but I got a call from the four year old saying it was beeping and the one year old was being dopey and not helping her get the batteries out.

Obviously I told her as the oldest child I expected better of her and to use her initiative and climb on a chair or something.
Could have sworn I only paid £5 for one of these a few years back

Perhaps they have friends or family members or guests who stay while they are away, or perhaps they have the home device permanently fixed in place so it cannot be easily removed. They might keep the other one in their packing cases anyway so they don't forget to take it on their trips away.

Perhaps they've increased in price since then
